My Hearfelt Wish!

‘Happy birthday mom!’

My eleven year old son congratulated me this morning, gave me a bear hug, a kiss, money, and cards as presents. My husband, daughter, little sonĀ did the same!

I’m really rich now! šŸ˜‰

Anyway, my son had this amused look on his face when he asked,

‘Mom what do you really wished for today?’

I looked at him, he’s going to secondary next September, andĀ he knows me like the palm of his hands. I didn’t answer him, rather, I went downstairs, opened the door and staring at my lawn, I saw images of people of all nations, ethnic groups, hugging each other and LouisĀ Armstrong’s ‘What a wonderful world’ came to my mind.

I see trees of green…….. red roses too
I see em bloom….. for me and for you
And I think to myself…. what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue….. clouds of white
Bright blessed days….dark sacred nights
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world.

The colours of a rainbow…..so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..saying.. how do you do
They’re really saying……I love you.

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more…..than I’ll never know
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world

The colours of a rainbow…..so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..saying.. how do you do
They’re really saying…*spoken*(I ….love….you).

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I’ll never know)
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself …….what a wonderful world.

I closed the door, and went upstairs, hugging him briefly, I said,

‘I want peace, love, and safety for all.’

He didn’t say anything.Ā When he was ready to go to school, I had the strangest feeling. If I could physically stand before God today, Ā I’ll tell him the same,

‘I want peace, food, shelter and safety for all.’

I wish you’llĀ all have peace and safety wherever you are in the world, have a great week! I’m going to do a bit of shopping after work from my cash windfall. I love you all!

Peace. šŸ™‚

The Borrowers

Ethan smiled and his blue eyes danced with glee, the contract was a done deal. He strode toward his private jet, a man with the world under his feet. He felt like he owned the universe but at the corner of his eyes, he saw a glimmer… And that was the last thing he remembered…

++ ++ ++ ++

Raja hid under the bed, his heart beating with fury, but his impotent rage would achieve nothing. He gritted his teeth and dug his nails into the brown smelly carpet. Then the men came in stealthily, searching for their target, their cold ruthless eyes noticed a flicker of a movement.

And they smiled.

Then the rapid sound of gunfire reverberated throughout the estate…

++ ++ ++ ++

Jonathan stretched his long taunt body on the sofa, his accountant breathing down his neck in excitement.
‘We did it,’ Jonathan said with a boyish grin. Two hundred million pounds worth of cocaine had sailed through unscathed.

ThenĀ theĀ accountant’s smile slowly faded like a receding shadow.

‘Honey,’ his new wife called from the bedroom, ‘I’m waiting!’
Jonathan stood to his feet and then saw the gun,

His heart froze.

‘The glory that goes with wealth is fleeting and fragile; virtue is a possession glorious and eternal.’ Sallust

I consider all men (by that I mean everyone!) as borrowers, we’re living on borrowed time. No one is going to physically live forever, and the earlier we let that sink into our subconscious mind, the better for us. When we realise how futile it is to wage wars, to keep malice and abhor love, I guess we’ve cracked the codeĀ to world peace!

I’m happy to be writing this, although I’m still navigating slowly through my deluge of deadlines but things are looking up. And I also have great news – I now have the official releaseĀ dateĀ for my upcoming supernatural thriller, 16th ofĀ December 2013!Ā I want to garner as many reviews as I can get, it always boost sales.

Please, if anyone is interested in giving a sincere review, do let me know and once my publisher releases the ARC (Advance Review Copies) I’ll send it to as many of my friends as possible. Thanks for your friendship, I’ve visited several blogs and enjoyed readingĀ diverse and richly entertaining contents. I’ll still continue to do so, and if I’ve not stopped by yours, please bear with me and I’ll visit soon!

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a fantastic weekend!

Much love, always!

A Loud, Noisy World…

A loud, noisy world.

Cacophony of sounds

reverberated everywhere.

Hatred danced openly,

while love is in remission.

Wars and rumours

of war danced freelyĀ on our streets.

Toddlers were afraid to chuckle.

A little peace, a little love

We Plead.

But instead

We got

Bullet wounds.

Snipers.

Terrorists.

And paedophiles,

Roamed freely.

A loud, Noisy World.

I hope for peace

and pray for love.

Elusive as it is…

I won’t give up!

It seems killings, deaths, wars has become a bit of a pastime in the world now, Kenya‘s mall killings, Pakistani Christians (women and children murdered), the naval base killings in the U.S, Syria‘s on going war, turmoil in Egypt, Philippine‘s rebels. The list is endless. My daughter asked me yesterday, ‘mum, why can’t we have peace in the world?’ I had no answer to her question. She’s just seven, yet, I can’t shield her from the cruelty of our world. The noise is a constant ringing sound… but you know me, I’m a diehard optimist – I still believe we can live in peace, we just need to start acting it. Like that picture, I hopefully long for peace and quietness in our world…

IĀ pray you’ll all have a peaceful week, and please keep safe!

Much love, always!

Our Golden Moments

Ā (Photo credit: Flickr)

We can’t always control what happens to us in life

We can’tĀ always decide how life will turn out.

We can’t always wish problems away

Or conjure up visions of peace and have it in our palms.

WeĀ can’t decideĀ how long our days may be,

Or the years we live on thisĀ earth.

We lie when we think we are immortals

Man born of a woman is of few days

Like a vapour in theĀ wind.

But we can control the moments we live in this life.

And I call it our golden moments.

Life can always throw up a punch we least expected

But we can LIVE lifeĀ the way we want.

By prolonging our golden moments under the sun,

By helping the poor,

By not turning away the needy with empty hands when we can fill it up with wealth

By putting a smile on people’s faces – even strangers

By loving all and despising none.

Then we will have earned our golden moments!

I am so happy to write this post, I’ve missed every one of you my dear friends. My holiday took longer than expected, a few visits from family abroad means I couldn’t blog and had to postpone a lot of work. But I know you guys have been having fun, I’ll join in the party and read as many posts as possible. Above all, I wish you more love, more peace, wherever you are in the world. Have a fantastic weekend!

Love, always!

A New Life

I watchedĀ in awe as splendour drips from your throne.

I asked you this questions,

How do you heal broken bones?

How do heal crushed spirits?

How do you heal broken homes?

How do you save man from himself?

How do you save the depressed?

The hungry?

The weak?

And the forgotten?

And you answered me, your eyes filled with kindness,

‘I infuse life

Look at my incredible creations,

the rolling hills, the birds, the flowers

my mountains in the clouds,

I give new life, even when the old wears away…’

ThenĀ I woke up.

This my poetic thought for this week, sometimes when we feel weak and tired of life, ( and it canĀ happen to the most positive person on earth) justĀ remember that you’re not alone. You’re not an accident in the equation of life, your lifeĀ matters,Ā you don’t have to believe in a God to know that life didn’t begin withĀ ‘the bigĀ bang theory’ there is a reason forĀ YOU. Let that be at the back of your mind through out this month. ThisĀ is the first day of a beautiful month, a month that I hope would be free from heart aches and troubles for mankind, life is incredibly short but it can also be awesome and beautiful. I wish you sound health, peace and love where ever you are in the world! šŸ™‚

I have missed many posts, friends, do bear with me, I promise to read all your awesome posts as soon as I can. I wish you all a prosperous and peaceful month, above all, please… Live well…

Much love, always.

I’m gonna sing with him!

Have a beautiful weekend dear friends!!

Much love, always! šŸ™‚ šŸ™‚

Sitting On The Fence!

Power Lines

I really want to make this a short post, but I guess I’ll just flow with the current. I’ve read and watched with a growing amount of apprehension at the recent UN decision to lift the arms embargo in Syria… I know – some of you might scoff or even snigger, what’s Syria got to do with me? But please, just read on.

Syria is comfortably in the Middle East, faraway from your suburban street with well laid lawns and ripening flowers in their blooms. You watched your kids get on the school bus, (or you take them) like I do every blessed morning but Syria can really come to our doorstep to hunt us.

Remember world war 2? Most of you don’t, I wasn’t even born then. Okay, let me bring things closer, what about Afghanistan? Osama Bin Laden? Yeah, at least that should jolt your memory. What aboutĀ the Soviet UnionĀ and their infamous treaty with Hitler? And Hitler is not one to keep to little flimsy deals, he didn’t and he still invaded the Soviets, millions lost their lives. Well,Ā Soviet UnionĀ has not learnt its (her? he?) lessons! The Soviets are still supporting Assad’s bloody campaign, with Iran!

What am I driving at, you may wonder. People are dying daily in Syria, blood is literally flowing on the streets unhindered, and to make matters worse, UN has lifted the armsĀ embargo, and Britain and France would be sending arms to rebels. I even saw John McCain ( heĀ lost theĀ Presidential race againstĀ President Obama)Ā in the papers grinning with some of the rebels.

Some people believed CIA had a lot do with Osama Bin Laden, check this article here; http://www.greenleft.org.au/node/24198

I don’tĀ care because the guy is dead, but if the report is true, won’t the same thing happen in Syria? If the rebels eventually overthrow Bashar Assad, won’t the rebels turnĀ against the West, like Osama didĀ and then we’ll be talking about another wave of terrorism? The Middle East is considered a volatile region, war is not pretty, thousands are dying daily, sending arms to a fragmented country on the brink of collapse is just going to make things bad.

There’s little or nothing I can do but write, after all, some said ‘the pen is mightier than the sword,’ (or the nukes) as the case may be. I’m not sitting on the fence, I’ve said my piece. I just pray and hope that one day, we’ll see an end to all wars, suffering, hunger, hatred, bitterness…

Do you notice the gathering clouds in that picture? It’s a huge contrast to the power lines and beautiful landscape. I hope Syria would not blight our lives, I pray they (international community) would find a solution to end the blood shed soon, but not arming the rebels. It’s not a comfortable thought! Fighting violence with violence can only result in more casualties!

I hope this beautiful world of ours will not drench herself in the blood of the innocent.

Much love friends, and thanks for reading this post!

Inner Peace…

I sat by the lake and the wind caressed my face.

I played with my hands and listened to nature.

I surrounded myself with quietness.

The Lake lady appeared.

She sat beside me and asked,

‘Are you troubled?’

‘No, I’m not,’

I replied with a vigorous shake of my head.

‘I was looking for peace,’ I added.

‘Only you can give yourself peace,’ She said

‘Yeah, I knowĀ and now I have it,’ I told her.

‘It’s noisy out there,’ she observed, and her eyes looked sad.

‘I don’t allow the noise get to me, I have found my peace.’ I said.

‘You’re the lucky one,’

‘There’s no such thing as luck, I decide to be at peace with myself

and the world I live in. It’s a beautiful world, I only need to open my eyes

and see.’

We listened to the sound of the lake.

And the mountains whisper,

‘Peace.’

This ‘poetic thought’ is symbolic, I hope you can get the true meaning. A placeĀ of peace is very easy. You’re the masterĀ of your destiny, you decide what course your life takes. You can have peace, if you want.

Have a nice weekend dear friends… Live well!

Much love, always. šŸ™‚

A Safe Haven!

Andras Petaron

I just can’t keep quiet, my heart is heavy, my spirit is crushed.

I looked round wildly like a horse in darknessĀ and couldn’t make a sense of this horrific, senseless killing.

I couldn’t get the image of the deranged killer out of my mind.

I couldn’t sleep.

I believe in peace but this is too much to bear.

This is a wonderful world,

But this is also a violent world!

How can one truly explain this?

Britain is a safe haven,

Ā A great country fighting for justice,

She has opened her arms wide,

Invited people of all nations through her borders.

Yet, some people would not be satisfied.

They would kill in the name of a spineless god.

Thousands have been killed in the name of religion,

But I still believed in this safe haven.

My prayers to the motherĀ and family of the slain soldier.

He is a hero, to me and many other mothers like me.

God blessĀ Great Britain.

I have tried to avoid watching television but reading newspapers this morning, brought hell. This is bad, and sickening. Something must be done. There is so much violence in the world, and violence would not end wars.

Live well dear friends.

Much love, always!

You Can Be The Light!

Sun, God and Humans!

When darkness seems to engulf all around you.

You can be the light

When your heart beat rapidly like a Banjo drum.

You can be the light

When all thoughts of courage are far between.

You can be the light

When hopes, seems to fade into oblivion.

You can be the light.

In the midst of gloom and despair.

You can be theĀ light

In the midst of darkness and tyranny.

You can be the light.

When you are the light,

your life, and pathĀ are secured.

Many times,Ā I’ve looked to others to do something about a situation or things I find appalling, and when Ā I realise nobody is willing to do anything, I step in! I’m generalizing here. Aptly put,Ā  what I’m trying to say is this, we can make a change… Things can get better if everyone puts in their quota to make this world a better place. Just a kind word, a smile, little coins here and there, can actually make a huge difference.

Have a pleasant, stress free weekend everyone… Here in the UK, we’re having a long weekend, there ‘s a bank holiday on Monday! (wooohooo!)

Live well dear friends.

Much love, always!
