Beauty In The Midst Of Decadence

Angela rushed through the meadows, her brown hair flying in the wind, to a percipient onlooker, she’s the picture of perfection and beauty. I watched her keenly as Jasper pulled me along the rough footpath. The howling wind whipped my cheeks savagely and I glanced up at the gloomy sky. Suddenly, my skin began to crawl and I had one of the most uneasy sensations since I left the house with Jasper. I sensed danger, Jasper whined and began to bark. I looked round widely and spotted the brown-haired girl.

That was all I saw and I sprung to action, I ran as if my life depended on it, luckily, we got there on time. I caught hold of her legs and everything paled into a blur. I was  glad I acted when I did. I saved a girl from killing herself!

* * * * * *

The above story is mere fiction, but beautiful if one way or the other, we could interrupt tragedy and save a dying soul from despair. Angela was just 12 years old, and yet, she wanted to kill herself, why? Because of cyber bullying. We live in such a fast-moving world, it’s scary sometimes. I was a virgin when I entered university and met my husband, but kids of today have had sexual relations as young as 9 years old! Though I believe we can still preserve the beauty and innocence of our children,  we just have to create more time and let them know we care about even the mundane details of their lives. I was a teenager once, so I know the feeling. As a parent, I care about young people and pray that we would do enough to make this world a better place, but I believe it starts from the home front, don’t you think?

Next week, I’ll be promoting some author friends, if anyone is interested in joining in my little adventure please drop a message on my contact page! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

A New Life

I watched in awe as splendour drips from your throne.

I asked you this questions,

How do you heal broken bones?

How do heal crushed spirits?

How do you heal broken homes?

How do you save man from himself?

How do you save the depressed?

The hungry?

The weak?

And the forgotten?

And you answered me, your eyes filled with kindness,

‘I infuse life

Look at my incredible creations,

the rolling hills, the birds, the flowers

my mountains in the clouds,

I give new life, even when the old wears away…’

Then I woke up.

This my poetic thought for this week, sometimes when we feel weak and tired of life, ( and it can happen to the most positive person on earth) just remember that you’re not alone. You’re not an accident in the equation of life, your life matters, you don’t have to believe in a God to know that life didn’t begin with ‘the big bang theory’ there is a reason for YOU. Let that be at the back of your mind through out this month. This is the first day of a beautiful month, a month that I hope would be free from heart aches and troubles for mankind, life is incredibly short but it can also be awesome and beautiful. I wish you sound health, peace and love where ever you are in the world! 🙂

I have missed many posts, friends, do bear with me, I promise to read all your awesome posts as soon as I can. I wish you all a prosperous and peaceful month, above all, please… Live well…

Much love, always.

Grandeur Of Illusions

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

No one is meant to live forever…

I call it the grandeur of illusion. When mere mortals believe they can physically cheat death. In another vein, we can live forever, (now I’m contradicting myself, aren’t I? Forgive me dear friends, I’m a writer) in the hearts and minds of people, by our words, influences, actions and deeds. We don’t live forever by what we accumulate or our great beauty – the aforementioned is the grandeur of illusion. Beauty fades, kingdoms fall but great stories last forever. Stories of valour, love, kindness and friendship.

I want to appreciate each one of you for praying for my sister SA, your love is not a grandeur of illusion but deeds of love. The operation was a huge success, surgeons were able to repair the damaged valves of her heart, the holes were closed up and her prognosis is good. She’s recovering well…

Yesterday was the longest day of my life, as I waited hours on end, and when she was wheeled out of the theatre with tubes all over her, eyes sealed shut, my heart almost burst out of my ribcage, the worst is over. Thanks so much guys for your love, I appreciate it! I am a grateful friend.

The week is almost over, I hope you’ll all enjoy the rest of this week in relative peace and safety!

Much love, Always!

Inner Peace…

I sat by the lake and the wind caressed my face.

I played with my hands and listened to nature.

I surrounded myself with quietness.

The Lake lady appeared.

She sat beside me and asked,

‘Are you troubled?’

‘No, I’m not,’

I replied with a vigorous shake of my head.

‘I was looking for peace,’ I added.

‘Only you can give yourself peace,’ She said

‘Yeah, I know and now I have it,’ I told her.

‘It’s noisy out there,’ she observed, and her eyes looked sad.

‘I don’t allow the noise get to me, I have found my peace.’ I said.

‘You’re the lucky one,’

‘There’s no such thing as luck, I decide to be at peace with myself

and the world I live in. It’s a beautiful world, I only need to open my eyes

and see.’

We listened to the sound of the lake.

And the mountains whisper,

‘Peace.’

This ‘poetic thought’ is symbolic, I hope you can get the true meaning. A place of peace is very easy. You’re the master of your destiny, you decide what course your life takes. You can have peace, if you want.

Have a nice weekend dear friends… Live well!

Much love, always. 🙂
