My Hearfelt Wish!

‘Happy birthday mom!’

My eleven year old son congratulated me this morning, gave me a bear hug, a kiss, money, and cards as presents. My husband, daughter, little sonĀ did the same!

I’m really rich now! šŸ˜‰

Anyway, my son had this amused look on his face when he asked,

‘Mom what do you really wished for today?’

I looked at him, he’s going to secondary next September, andĀ he knows me like the palm of his hands. I didn’t answer him, rather, I went downstairs, opened the door and staring at my lawn, I saw images of people of all nations, ethnic groups, hugging each other and LouisĀ Armstrong’s ‘What a wonderful world’ came to my mind.

I see trees of green…….. red roses too
I see em bloom….. for me and for you
And I think to myself…. what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue….. clouds of white
Bright blessed days….dark sacred nights
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world.

The colours of a rainbow…..so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..saying.. how do you do
They’re really saying……I love you.

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more…..than I’ll never know
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world

The colours of a rainbow…..so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces…..of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands…..saying.. how do you do
They’re really saying…*spoken*(I ….love….you).

I hear babies cry…… I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I’ll never know)
And I think to myself …..what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself …….what a wonderful world.

I closed the door, and went upstairs, hugging him briefly, I said,

‘I want peace, love, and safety for all.’

He didn’t say anything.Ā When he was ready to go to school, I had the strangest feeling. If I could physically stand before God today, Ā I’ll tell him the same,

‘I want peace, food, shelter and safety for all.’

I wish you’llĀ all have peace and safety wherever you are in the world, have a great week! I’m going to do a bit of shopping after work from my cash windfall. I love you all!

Peace. šŸ™‚

The Borrowers

Ethan smiled and his blue eyes danced with glee, the contract was a done deal. He strode toward his private jet, a man with the world under his feet. He felt like he owned the universe but at the corner of his eyes, he saw a glimmer… And that was the last thing he remembered…

++ ++ ++ ++

Raja hid under the bed, his heart beating with fury, but his impotent rage would achieve nothing. He gritted his teeth and dug his nails into the brown smelly carpet. Then the men came in stealthily, searching for their target, their cold ruthless eyes noticed a flicker of a movement.

And they smiled.

Then the rapid sound of gunfire reverberated throughout the estate…

++ ++ ++ ++

Jonathan stretched his long taunt body on the sofa, his accountant breathing down his neck in excitement.
‘We did it,’ Jonathan said with a boyish grin. Two hundred million pounds worth of cocaine had sailed through unscathed.

ThenĀ theĀ accountant’s smile slowly faded like a receding shadow.

‘Honey,’ his new wife called from the bedroom, ‘I’m waiting!’
Jonathan stood to his feet and then saw the gun,

His heart froze.

‘The glory that goes with wealth is fleeting and fragile; virtue is a possession glorious and eternal.’ Sallust

I consider all men (by that I mean everyone!) as borrowers, we’re living on borrowed time. No one is going to physically live forever, and the earlier we let that sink into our subconscious mind, the better for us. When we realise how futile it is to wage wars, to keep malice and abhor love, I guess we’ve cracked the codeĀ to world peace!

I’m happy to be writing this, although I’m still navigating slowly through my deluge of deadlines but things are looking up. And I also have great news – I now have the official releaseĀ dateĀ for my upcoming supernatural thriller, 16th ofĀ December 2013!Ā I want to garner as many reviews as I can get, it always boost sales.

Please, if anyone is interested in giving a sincere review, do let me know and once my publisher releases the ARC (Advance Review Copies) I’ll send it to as many of my friends as possible. Thanks for your friendship, I’ve visited several blogs and enjoyed readingĀ diverse and richly entertaining contents. I’ll still continue to do so, and if I’ve not stopped by yours, please bear with me and I’ll visit soon!

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a fantastic weekend!

Much love, always!

The Plunge!

‘The step between prudence and paranoia

is short and deep.

Prudence wears a seatbelt,

Paranoia avoids cars altogether.

Prudence washes with soap;

Paranoia avoids human contact altogether.

Prudence saves for old age;

Paranoia clings to every penny!

Prudence prepares and plans;

Paranoia panics.

Prudence calculates the risks and takes the plunge;

paranoia never enters the water.’

I read this today and it had a profound effect on me. I have been extremely busy at work, and coupled with my upcoming book, it was like walking in a sea of unending deadlines. But then I paused and allowed these words sink into my spirit, mulling it over, I realised that as humans, we’re certainly creatures of comfort, and taking the plunge could be easier said than done.

What do I mean by plunges? They’re simply changes, making new decisions and following them through. Having faith in God and yourself (if you believe in God) and stepping out to make the needed changes to your life. To reach a glorious destiny, you have to stop holding back. Some have changed their lives by going to college andĀ following their dreams, others signed up for reality shows, and some, just improving their skills by attending night school.

But you must first take the plunge!

I need to apologise for my silence, I have been inundated with work and had certainly missed a lot of posts. Please bear with me, and I’ll catch up soon. I’ll be travelling out of London this weekend but would be back next week, before then, I’ll still visit your wonderful websites!

HaveĀ a fantastic month! Ā October had always been my best month (I was born in October! šŸ˜‰ ) and as the weekend inch closer, just have fun and enjoy life!

Much love, always!

Growing…

Winter Trees at Sunset

To live is to grow, when we stop growing, we stop living.

Some one once asked what inspires me to write, and I told this amiable fellow, ‘life inspires me to write and when I write, I grow, I keep learning everyday!’

Life is full of mysteries and wonder, that is why writers would always have inspirations to write. I read everyday and I write everyday! Our lives would be mundane if it’s static. When asked as an old man why he still practiced six to eight hours a day, one of the world’s bestĀ violinists replied, ‘Because IĀ think I’m getting better!’ And I think that’s the attitude we need to cultivate, the desire to be the best in whatever we do.

When I read some of my earlier works,Ā I laugh, because I saw through my mistakes, and I quickly improve on it. IĀ am not the same writer I was yesterday, because today, I learnt how to write better. Life is progressive, death is static. If we don’t want to learn, what the hell are we living for then?

Growing takes time…Ā we spend ourĀ whole life growing.

WhenĀ Henry WadsworthĀ Longfellow was an old man, an admirer asked him how he was able to write so beautifully. Pointing to a nearby apple tree, he replied, ‘that tree is very old, but I never saw prettier blossoms. The tree grows a very little new wood every year, and out of that new wood those blossoms come. So I try to grow a little each year.’

What a decent man! I want to be more like Longfellow, grow like a tree, throughout my lifetime.

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend, and as we head into a new week, I hope you will have the courage and patience to learn new things, to grow like an oakĀ and impact your world!

If any of you, myĀ friends, recently bought one of my books, do leave a review at Amazon, or if you haven’t, do support a writer who loves the written word and click on my sidebar. ‘Tales Of Five Lies’ is less is than a dollarĀ orĀ a pound, ‘The Feet Of Darkness,’ is also available worldwide, online andĀ in bookshops… My upcoming supernaturalĀ thriller, ‘Cydonia Rise of the fallen,’ will be released beforeĀ Christmas.Ā

It’s a pleasure being your friend and I value every one of you dearly.Ā Enjoy the rest of your weekend and have a beautiful week!

Much love, always!

Words Are Forever!

Sean kicked the grass in frustration, his eyes filled with tears and he tried to control himself with great difficulty. His dad‘s harsh voice resounded in his mind like a volcanic eruption, ”You’re no good, you’re like your mother – a drug addict! I hate you.” He dashed inside the house, his dad recoiled on a chair, a glass of beer inĀ his rightĀ hand, remote controlĀ on the other. They exchanged hateful glances. And Sean raised the gun.

*

Hamza tried to stop the tirades of abuse from the boys in the estate, ‘you’re a loser, go kill yourself.’ At home, it was worse, his mother was stoned twenty-four hours a day… He left the house but the words of the boys clung to him like a second skin.

*

Chloe’s brown eyes light up in anticipation. Her dad kissed her on the cheek, and said with a smile, ‘you light up my world angel, you’re a star, you can do this.’ She nodded, her future is bright, she knows she can do anything she set her heart to, she had been nurtured with loving words, right through her childhood, and now at the age of twenty, the world is her oyster.

* * * * *

The words we speak has theĀ power to destroy or build up, let’s be mindful of ourĀ words. Some people were damagedĀ by wordsĀ of others while some have killed others by their words. Let’s choose our words carefully. A word fitly spoken has the power to change a life…

Think about that this weekend, and I wishĀ you love, peace and happiness, wherever you are in the world myĀ friends. Have aĀ great weekend!

Much love, always.

Our Golden Moments

Ā (Photo credit: Flickr)

We can’t always control what happens to us in life

We can’tĀ always decide how life will turn out.

We can’t always wish problems away

Or conjure up visions of peace and have it in our palms.

WeĀ can’t decideĀ how long our days may be,

Or the years we live on thisĀ earth.

We lie when we think we are immortals

Man born of a woman is of few days

Like a vapour in theĀ wind.

But we can control the moments we live in this life.

And I call it our golden moments.

Life can always throw up a punch we least expected

But we can LIVE lifeĀ the way we want.

By prolonging our golden moments under the sun,

By helping the poor,

By not turning away the needy with empty hands when we can fill it up with wealth

By putting a smile on people’s faces – even strangers

By loving all and despising none.

Then we will have earned our golden moments!

I am so happy to write this post, I’ve missed every one of you my dear friends. My holiday took longer than expected, a few visits from family abroad means I couldn’t blog and had to postpone a lot of work. But I know you guys have been having fun, I’ll join in the party and read as many posts as possible. Above all, I wish you more love, more peace, wherever you are in the world. Have a fantastic weekend!

Love, always!

Destiny Or Coincidence?

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā  (Photo credit: O. Ampi, Flickr)

Ā So many people haveĀ said or writtenĀ a lot on destiny, it’s an inexhaustible topic. I’m not going to perambulate or go around in circles, I believe we make our own destinies by the choices we made. Coincidence on the other handĀ is mere luck, it’s something trivial in my book.Ā From time immemorial, I knew I wanted to be a writer but that’s not where it ended. OfĀ late, I’ve been involved in some projects that I never believed in my wildest imagination that I wasĀ going toĀ do but it happened nonetheless, which keeps me wondering aboutĀ destiny, fate, and coincidence.

But today, I’m glad I have awesome friends like you, which brings me to this C.S Lewis quote thatĀ I saw recently,

”In your life you meet people.

Some you never think about again.

Some, you wonder what happened to them.

There are some that you wonder if they ever think about you.

And then there are some that you wish you never have to think about again.

But you do.”

Those words aptly encapsulates the people we’ve come across in life. At present, I often wonder about friends I met on thisĀ blogosphere who simply disappeared off the radar, some have stopped blogging, some can’t be bothered anymore and some are even better than friends I had known for years. And I don’t think our friendship is coincidental! I know some of you reading this might have wondered about the same thingĀ but I truly believe that friendships makes life bearable! And saying that, I have a writer friend, Tracy Shawn andĀ I would love to promote her upcoming book, ‘The Grace Of Crows” shown here;

Photo: Sneak peek of the cover for our October release of Tracy Shawn's novel THE GRACE OF CROWS.

The novel would be released by Cherokee McGhee Publishing in October, please check It out, and I’ll always tuck in a reminder in my posts before and after the release. Thanks guys! šŸ™‚

On that note, I’ll say, I’m happy you’re my friends and I wish you allĀ a lovely and peacefulĀ week!

Much love, always!

The Goops

The Goops they lick their fingers

And the Goops they lick their knives:

They spill their froth on the tablecloth

Oh, they lead disgusting lives!

The Goops they talk while eating,

And loud and fast they chew;

And that is why I’m glad that I Am not a Goop,

are you?

Life is incredibly hard at times but I’ve found out that we don’t need to take ourselves too serious sometimes. I’ll immerse myself in goopy behaviour this weekend, laugh at silly jokes, play in the sand with the kids, watch comedy, enjoy nature (like that incredibly beautiful picture) sing, pray and enjoy life. Succinctly put, I’m gonna live. Please guys, join meĀ and have some fun…Ā Enjoy yourselves!

NP: The Goop is a poem that tries to teach kids to behave, but I had no intention of doing that this weekend, but onĀ Monday, I’ll be back to the normal Seyi SandraĀ David!

Ā Au’revoir everyone and have fun!!

Much love, always!

Beauty In The Midst Of Decadence

Angela rushed through the meadows, her brown hair flying in the wind, to a percipient onlooker, she’s the picture of perfection and beauty. I watched her keenly as Jasper pulled me along the rough footpath. The howling wind whipped my cheeks savagelyĀ and I glanced up at the gloomy sky. Suddenly, my skin began to crawl and I had one of the most uneasy sensations since I left the house with Jasper. I sensed danger, Jasper whined and began to bark. I looked round widely and spotted the brown-haired girl.

That was all I saw and I sprung to action, I ran as if my life depended on it, luckily, we got there on time. I caught hold of her legs and everything paled into a blur. I wasĀ  glad I acted when I did. I saved a girl from killing herself!

* * * * * *

The above story is mere fiction, but beautiful if one way or the other, we could interrupt tragedy and save a dying soul from despair. Angela was just 12 years old, and yet, she wanted to kill herself,Ā why? Because ofĀ cyber bullying. We live in such a fast-moving world, it’s scaryĀ sometimes. I was a virgin when I entered university and met my husband,Ā but kids of today have had sexual relations as young asĀ 9 years old! Though I believe we can still preserve the beauty and innocenceĀ of our children,Ā  we just have to create more timeĀ and letĀ them know we care aboutĀ even the mundane details of their lives.Ā I was a teenager once, so I know the feeling. As a parent, I care about young people and pray that we would do enough to make this world a better place, but I believe it starts from the home front, don’tĀ you think?

Next week, I’ll be promoting some author friends, if anyone is interested in joining inĀ my little adventure please drop aĀ message on my contact page! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

NP: I have had a very busy but interesting week and must have missed lots of awesome posts! Please bear with me friends, I’ll stop by your blogs as soon as I can!! šŸ˜‰

Much love, always.

The Act Of Emptying…

Morning Glory

At one time or the other in our lives, we had stuffs weighing us down which reminded me of the words of Jon Gordon, he says. ”We fill our minds with thoughts that hold us back, habits that limit us, distractions that derail us, negative people who drain us, fear that paralyses us, time-sappers that sabotage our productivity. We spend so much time and energy on things that don’t matter – we fail to focus on what does matter. We fill up with so many things that generate negative energy, there’s no room for positive energy in our lives.”

And today, this minute, this week and throughout the rest of this year or our days, I want us to learn the act of emptying, removing all those negative energy and renewing our minds. According to my daily devotion, the author state that we need to lose the clutter in our lives and I quote,

” The clutter you need to lose includes: believing that you’re alone ( and you’re not! ) trying to please everybody (I don’t try to), feeling insecure, putting yourself down, needing everybody to like you (it’s not possible, even dead people still have enemies!) jumping to negative conclusions before you know the fact (I’m sometimes guilty of this), thinking you’re always right (bah!) recalling all the times you messed up, wanting to know how it all turns out, needing to have all the answers (that can only happen in another planet I guess šŸ™‚ ), worrying that if you let go of the memorabilia you’ll lose the memories, agonisingĀ that you’re not rich enough (everyone can’t be Bill Gate or Oprah Winfrey), good enough or clever enough, surrounding yourself with peopleĀ who remember the bad times and not the good, (lose them!)Ā making energy sucking comparisons, viewing life like a movie instead of participating, believing that the best days are over, waitingĀ at all times for the right moment, fearing you will look foolish, focusing on negative type-casting…”

Believe me, the list goes on, but how on earth can you empty your heart and fill it with positive energy? Through theĀ spirit, the spiritĀ of God can renew your attitudes. We can do the direct opposites ofĀ the lists above, and believe me, that’s the art of emptying your clustered minds and lives. I don’t have all the answers of life but I do enjoy my life and you can too!!

Have a fantastic week, and remember, YOU ARE THE BEST!

Much love, always. šŸ™‚
