The Listeners…

Hannah

”Love has been misused several times, it’s kind of meaningless.” Hannah said, a wistful look in her blue eyes, she looked so sad and I wanted to hug her. But I know there are times you just listen and not say a word. Just been there was all Hannah needed at that time and I listened with rapt attention.

My heart broke into a million fragments by her tale, I felt the alien feeling of fear gripped my soul, how could she have kept quiet for so long, how did she manage to keep her sanity?

”I love him,” she was saying and a lump rose up in my throat, I wanted to cry and then like a rainbow on a grey sky she dropped the bombshell!

Who is Hannah? What is her story? Why does she hate the word love?

Stay tuned dear friends, I’ll be back… or better still, can anyone tell me the story of Hannah? Can you dig deep and find the right words?

I’ll be waiting dear friends!

Much love, always:)

A Farce Called Honour!

Oak Tree on snowy Fields at Sunset

Your only crime was to fall in love.

And that was all there was to it.

What a farce called honour!

When your heart beat wildly with fear,

And you sleep with one eye open,

Then you have a lot to fear!

When the icy glares of your parents and relatives

Sends a chill to your bone and a sword to your heart

Then you’re in big trouble!

When you run wildly through the moors

With the angry face of your father behind you

The snarling breath of your brother on your face,

Be very afraid indeed.

When all you can see, is the bag on your head.

As the man who brought you to the world scream,

‘Rot in hell,’ The heavens shudder!

When you hovered over their heads,

As your lifeless body was hidden from view.

What utter betrayal!

Your only crime was falling in love…

Just another incomprehensible statistics on the

culture of evil perpetuated by hatred.

And a farce called honour!

A class system where the love of a mother ran

cold against the daughter of her breast.

Thanks for reading my poetic thoughts on parents from hell…

A Woman’s Sphere…

1311604-1366x768-[DesktopNexus.com]

”They talk about a woman’s sphere as

though it had a limit;

There’s not a place in earth or heaven,

There’s not a task to mankind given,

There’s not a blessing or woe,

There’s not a whispered ”yes” or ”no,”

There’s not a life, or death, or birth,

That has a feather’s weight of worth

without a woman in it.”

                                     Kate Field, Poet. (1838-1896)

I love this poem and I thought, why not share it and affirm to those words that I’m proud to be a woman (and a man too if you’re reading this), I’m proud of the fact that I can effect a change in a world filled with corruption and darkness, a world where demons walk in broad daylight and evil is extol with relish. I’m proud that when I effect a change in my world (family) I’m translating and infusing life and love into people of all ages. I’m proud to be a woman who chose to love people irrespective of who they are!

Are you proud of who you are?

Thanks for reading my post:)

A Lone Wolf?

I’m happy to be blogging today, (and every other day!) I’ve buried my nose deep in various book projects which would be an ongoing thing throughout this year but I’ve missed my friends and I’m kind of ”bloggy lonely” ( that’s my language by the way) and I found out that loneliness is real but do you know it could be utilised in a good way?

There are times when we are lonely or we think we are lonely that we should rather be sober… I mean, think deeply about life, family, friends, career, strangers (yes, people you pass by on the street) the universe, what we’re doing with our lives, are we positively impacting others with our behaviours? Or are we like pests? Where we only take and take, never giving anything back in return? I do that sometimes, you know, reappraised my life and try to improve where I think I’m lacking and stuffs like that.

But I’m blessed with great friends and though a writer’s life could be lonely at times, where you’re surrounded by your characters even while you’re in a room full of people, your mind could still be racing, trying to figure out what to do with who…

Succinctly put, been a lone wolf is not actually a bad thing, but we shouldn’t forget to reach out when we ought to because there is time for everything in life…

I wish to appreciate all my friends and those who gave me awards, I’m profoundly grateful for the honour you guys have continually bestowed on me. In the meantime friends, love well, smile at strangers and be a cheer to a lonely heart today!

Have a great week!!!

Blessings to you all:)

Core…

Prominence Earth

I watched with mouth agape at the volcanic eruption as earth spurted in anger.

‘What’s this? Why so much anger, so much stress?’

‘Because I’ve been so unfairly treated,’ said Mr. Earth,

‘By who?,’ I asked in fear.

‘By the sons of men,’ Mr. Earth replied with an ancient growl

that ruled the waves of the sea.

‘I’m tired of the bloodshed, the hunger and the tears of the innocent,

men raping women, children killing adults and babies,

evil abounds and I’m losing my patience

my core will spill out and it’s not going to be pretty.’

I was quiet, staring in disbelief as the rain of fire intensified

I’ll better run, I mused and found out my feet was glued

to the ground as lava moved stealthily towards me.

‘Only a change of heart can save your planet,’

Mr. Earth’s eerie voice receded into

darkness and I woke up!

It was all a dream…

”I Got You!”

Rainbow field

I’d totally prepared another post when I decided to take a little nap and my 2-year-old son sauntered after me. I groaned inwardly knowing my quick ‘shut-eye’ was fading into the shadows. Well he’s my son and I love him so we played on the bed, rumpled the sheets and like I suspected, he soon got bored and went back to the living room to watch ‘Agent Oso,’ on the T.V and play with his ten-year old brother.

I had settled into a blissful sleep, you know that kind where you feel as if you’re been rocked and your bed was moving in consonance to your breathing? Well, I was in that threshold when intuitively, my eyes flipped open, my son had climbed my bed and was sitting precariously near the edge, it seemed as if he was navigating a rugged mountain by the look on his cute face, and everything happened in a split second…

If my son had fallen from that bed, I’m sure the Queen would have heard his wailing in Buckingham palace, so I was not about to let that happen; his head had almost reach the floor when I caught hold of his ankle.

”I got you!” I said breathlessly and put him down, he smiled and disappeared from the room, calling out his brother’s name.

This incident brought this thought to my head, in life, we’re surrounded by loved ones, friends and family members who are always around when we are happy, sad or… just been alive. I think we should appreciate them more, you know my saying, life is too short, let people around you know you care… And just as we marvelled at the beauty of a rainbow, let us marvel at their love for us because they always got our backs!

Thanks for reading my post!!

The Journey

                                                Island. Guenter Kirchweger

Roberto Cavalli’s eyes tried to adjust to the darkness, but it was difficult, the only sound which seemed to permeate the atmosphere was the clanging on the rail tracks. He tried to move his arms but it was as hopeless as trying to lift a mountain so he just gave up.

Soon, he heard a cough and tried to turn his head but a chuckle escaped him instead though it sounded like a plea for help. ”Why don’t you sleep Roberto, forget Isabella and the kids, God would take care of them,” a voice whispered shrilly in his head but he ignored it, there was no reason he’d give in to that tormenting spirit which made him jump in the first place.

”But, how I’m going to get out of here?” He asked out loud and was not expecting an answer, and then there was that cough again. What’s more, it was getting louder, so was the noise of the train, but he couldn’t move as a blinding light beamed on him.

Now, Roberto was sure he was no longer alone, the grating annoying sound on the gravel was unnerving. And ever so slowly, the head of a shrivelled old man appeared, his green eyes reminded Roberto of the eyes of his newborn son, Argento. The man peered down at him and cackled, his green eyes seemed to dance with delight.

”I don’t know how many people I’ll meet on the journey of my life, but I’m sure as hell proud to have known you! And you’re lucky I’m by your side today.”

”Who are you?” Roberto asked and winced in pain.

”I am Second Chance, SC for short, you lost your job and your house was repossessed, so you thought you’d end it all by jumping in front of a fast-moving train.”

Roberto watched through the corner of his eyes at another approaching train which was inching closer at each passing second.

”I did no such thing! I lost my footing!”

”Oh yes you did jump, you thought you’ve lost everything, yet you had everything.”

”Can you get me out of here?” Roberto asked, suddenly overcome with guilt, he didn’t want to die anymore.

”Yes, you only need to ask.” The old man said kindly.

”Please, help me!” Roberto begged, ”I’m in so much pain, don’t know how I could still speak.”

”I thought you’d never ask.”

And the man touched him and Roberto found himself back on the platform. He looked round wildly and saw a limping old man walking away, he wanted to run after him but changed his mind.

”You’re sure one lucky dude,” said the guy standing beside him before stepping into the district line train. Roberto stood rooted to the spot, what just happened to him?

Life could be incredibly hard sometimes but losing hope and ending it all is not supposed to be an option. Thanks for reading my post!

”I Will Help You”

Swas Van

Life can throw some punches at you that you least expect and believe me friends, when it does, don’t be too afraid to ask for help.

”No man is an island,” my husband used to say and those words are true!
I had no intention of posting today because I’m neck-deep in several projects and while I was using my mental analytics to plan my next course of actions somebody suddenly walked up to me and said those magical words,

”I will help you!”

You see, this is someone I admire and love greatly and I know He can do more than what I’d asked Him to do but when He said those words, it was as if a very heavy load was lifted off my shoulders, I have someone to share my life with, my hopes, my dreams and yes, my writings!

So friends, if you’re at your wits’ end, don’t be afraid or too proud to ask for help, it might make a great difference to how this year turn out for you!

That’s all my friends!

Love always:)

A Track Of Light!

Sunshine

”I will not wish thee riches, nor the glow of greatness,

But that wherever you go, some weary heart shall

Gladden at thy smile, or shadowed life know

Sunshine for a while.

And so thy path shall be a track of light,

Like angel’s footsteps passing through the night!

(inscriptions words on a church wall in Upwaltham, England, Petworth, West Sussex)

These words gladden my heart and I hope you’ll find wisdom in it friends!

Much Love.

Always:)
