Smile

A smile lightens up the world!

Smiling is often difficult when you’re tensed, stressed, and things aren’t actually going your way. But smiling makes life beautiful. The person smiling actually makes life better, and they feel better too.

Mother Teresa said it best: ”We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.”

”A gentle word, a kind look, a good-natured smile can work wonders and accomplish miracles.” William Hazlitt

Today, why not practice this: Smile at strangers, laugh at yourself, be kind towards people, be less judgemental (I sure need that! ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and while there’s chaos and wars elsewhere, you know you can hold your ground, smile and be thankful for little blessings like clean water, a safe environment, food to eat and the fact that your life matters to a lot of people! People like me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Or what do you think friends?

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely weekend!

Much love, always! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. What a great post Seyi. I know the power in smiling, it helps makes the world a ‘slightly’ better place to live. There are many things that would make people frown, sulk, and fight, but when we do smile, miracles can happen. Mother Teresa was right, so was William Hazlitt. Enjoy the rest of this week!

Wonderful post, Seyi, and a very good reminder to always smile as it can brighten even the darkest mood.

I try to take this advice regularly. Sometimes I forget! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for the reminder, Seyi.

Yes, we ought to develop the habit of smiling because it’s a healthy thing to do. Someone once told me that it helps remove wrinkles and prevents one from aging fast. And like my devotional this morning–which centred on this topic, too–you have once again reminded me of the importance of this simple act. One other thing I try not to do is this: staying angry for long. It generates a negative energy.

    Thanks for sharing, sis.

You’re right Uzoma, staying angry for too long not only generates energy, it deprives us of enjoying our lives. Glad to know that you study ‘Our Daily Bread,’ it’s fuel for the soul, and I got the inspiration for the post from the author of today’s topic. Thanks for the visit dear brother!

    Definitely adds value to life.:)

  11. When you smile your face lights up and invites others to smile back at you. It’s a wonderful cycle of joy.

Very true – smiling is so rewarding for the giver more than the recipient, I reckon ๐Ÿ™‚

We do take cleaning drinking water and a roof for granted, it’s good to get a reminder…we can’t change the world alone but to make it a happier and more encouraging, open world then we can start. I laugh at myself a lot…I mist be real funny!

    • Seyi sandra says:

Of course you’re real funny my friend! And you’re right, we take some things for granted that we shouldn’t. Thinking of the roof over my head and food on the table should be a reason to smile, hopefully that would also give me a thankful heart!

Appreciate your visit old friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Very well written – I always be wasteful with my smiles, they cost nothing – sometimes I get paid back, sometimes not – if not, then it isn’t me who is missing a smile – a big smile for you, my friend… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  21. Seyi, I’m one of those people who can feel the difference right away when I smile. Thanks for reminding me to smile even if no one can see me. Last night a lovely little girl shouted hello, waved, and smiled as I walked by her home. Her mom was beside her and had smiled too so that I felt safe to smile and wave back. Some of the simplest gifts can bless so much and cost so little. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m very impressed at this wonderful post. All too often we are lost in our thoughts and worries to really appreciate the simple things in life. A smile can be a miraculous thing, and after reading this post I intend to spread a little happiness with this wonderful expression that we so often forget to show!!
I’m reminded of the wonderful Charlie Chaplin song called -‘Smile,’ the lyrics of which were written many years ago but are as revelent today as when Mr Chaplin first composed them.

    • Seyi sandra says:

Thanks for your very thoughtful comment! Please keep spreading the smile and happiness, it would definitely make the world a better place.

I sincerely appreciate your visit and comment! Do enjoy the rest of your week!
      Blessings. ๐Ÿ™‚
