Love Needn’t be…

Love needn’t be difficult or complex

Like these two lovebirds

Who enjoy each other’s company.

Love needn’t be pretentious or a burden.

Love needn’t be about wealth and class.

Love should be based on true feelings,

Borne out of a pure heart

Not on lust.

Do you notice the dirt in the picture? To me, it implies imperfection, loving someone doesn’t mean they are perfect, neither are you! But we should love them anyway!!

We live in a very complex world, someone once told me he doesn’t believe in love, and I failed to convince him otherwise. Recently I read a newspaper article where the author claimed that a high percentage of people in London, live alone, loveless. It’s a modern malaise and its frighteningly apocalyptic in nature. As naïve as I may sound, I still believe in love!

Have a fantastic weekend friends and live well, and… erm… love well!

Much love, always!

🙂

Danke dir für deinen Besuch und wünsche dir einen schönen Abend und ein tolles Wochenende Klaus

  8. Sandra, you are not naive. Let others be cynical about love. We know best. Even here my friends mock at me I know behind my back about some sacrifices I make daily for the sake of my husband and children. I always tell them I will rather be poor than to be rich in a loveless marriage.

I know what you mean, people hardly believe in the ‘tangible real and selfless love,’ some women have for their hubby, besides all things are temporal, why can’t one enjoying true love! Have a great weekend dear sis!
      🙂

I believe in love, and if you show love you receive love. Living alone does not mean without love, still it depends on yourself too. To be loved, be lovable, Ovid says!

  10. JC says:

I believe in love. God is love! I’ve come to find out that sometimes people don’t know what love is and if they don’t give it they don’t receive it well. To me love is unconditional and selfless 🙂
    Be blessed

Great post, Seyi! Not believing in love is kind of like not having hope. Why bother? The picture’s perfect. 🙂

  12. RoSy says:

    A sweet tweet! 🙂
I believe in love. But – I think it needs to start with loving oneself. Love can easily be lost otherwise. Well – that’s what I think.
    xo

That’s well said Rosy! You can’t give what you don’t have! Have a fantabulous weekend!! And pls, check your spam folder, I don’t know if my comment is hiding there!

I fear… If that statistic(a high percentage of people in London, live alone, loveless.) is true cos (this may sound cliche but…) love is the only way…

  14. John says:

    An excellent photo!

  15. Ike says:

Biblically…love is not an emotion… it is an act…an act of self- sacrifice.

For the most part… when a man tells a woman that he loves her…..what he is really saying is that he loves himself and he wants her. How sad.

  16. Truly lovely piece! It resonates with me! I really love this. Much love to you too!

  17. ledrakenoir says:

    Very well written – a cute photo… 🙂

  18. Love really is not perfect but, like you, I still believe it is possible. Enjoy the weekend, dear friend!

It is wonderful that so many comments show how much we all feel this post as real to each of us, I think you posting this is a sign that you are still sensitive and those who comment respond to that as well.
Posts that get this response are important, they show us we still feel.
    good posting thanks

Lovely post. I believe in love, I am a sucker for love, it is such a beautiful thing! And true love makes us kinder and more humane, it changes us. Love changes everything for the better.

  21. Lori D says:

Not naïve at all. Love is all there is, people just don’t recognize it. JMO.

  22. WordsFallFromMyEyes says:

Love borne of heart not lust – yes, that’s something I learned in my mid 20s. Big lesson. Love is so beautiful, Seyisandra. Lovely poem. And LOVE those GORGEOUS yellow birds 🙂

  23. I loved the part about love accepting imperfections– great insight and wisdom there.

Of course, I’ll always believe you are perfect, Seyi… : )

    Great post!
