Greed Can Make Us Lose Direction!

Greed is inherently present in the human psyche, but it CAN be controlled and brought into submission in many ways. However, sometimes, we could be faced with some very tantalising (or not!) choices, and that is when the evil in us could come to the fore. I want to take 2 minutes of your time, please watch this video clip, and tell me your thoughts!

Have a brilliant day friends, and enjoy your weekend too! 🙂

Much love, always!

  1. Very interesting story, it showed the greed in the heart of man! Thanks for sharing Seyi, and enjoy the rest of your day too!
    🙂

  2. Yep! We can fall into our own trap! Evil is not worth to start with… good video with strong msg 🙂

This is great. The greed gets the better of him, rather than just taking a little, he has to take more and more. I don’t know what I would do with it, but I know I wouldn’t be greedy. Maybe just a bit of food here and there.

I would definitely peep into the safe, I’m a curious person, now, whether I would take something from the safe is another thing. There’s a lot riding on this, I have a very strong conscience and If I took a bundle or two, I would confess or take it back or merely peep in and close the door! 🙂
      But the temptation is high!!!

      • Al says:

I agree. I have told people when they give me too much change. The last time I stole anything was in 1987 and that was so I could eat. Stealing just because you can – no. I couldn’t do it. I don’t even know if I would look at the safe. Maybe my bosses desk drawer

      • Seyi sandra says:

I would definitely look in the safe, curiosity and the fact that something else could be in there apart from money.

You’re right, stealing is low, I even returned a pound I was paid extra to an Iceland store today but was told I shouldn’t have bothered. Like they say, there’s dignity in labour, not stealing! Hope you’ll have a great weekend. My love your lovely children.
        🙂

I finally get to see my son again tomorrow, he’s been away for a week in Wales. Hehe I make it sound like he is 8 not 18.

Thanks Seyi. Hope you and your family have a great weekend.

I love that video, such a simple premise done very cleverly…I always wondered how he would explain himself in the morning to his bosses, if the safe wasn’t airtight that is. I can see the temptation of having money to have security but I could never be one of these business men that are obsessed with getting more each year.

  5. That was very thought provoking. I loved the way there was no dialogue, just the one man, yet you could see what was going on in his head.

I think all of us would at least be tempted to go to the safe – it might be hard to resist. Thanks for sharing this with us. 🙂

  6. Interesting and funny really. Greed, greed and greed. until it sucked him in. 🙂

    • Seyi sandra says:

That’s how sin works, slowly sucking people in, sometimes, it doesn’t even have to be greed! Glad to see you here my sis. Enjoy your weekend!
      🙂

  7. Kendra Turner says:

So much truth! Funny! Enjoy your weekend.

  8. RoSy says:

    Tempting. But – I think it’s a short-term high.
I’ll stick to being not greedy & get frustrated when I could use a few extra $.
At least what I have – I know I have worked for honestly.
Only time will tell – if it’s all really worth it.
I would like to think so.
    {Hugs}

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right Rosy, it’s a short time high. The shame that follows would erase every thought of the money and it’s elusive benefits.

I appreciate the visit, have a wonderful weekend!
      Blessings. 🙂

  9. Bonnie says:

super video! thx for sharing 🙂

  10. Bonnie says:

    U 2! ❤

  11. Sherri says:

Absolutely fascinating this Seyi! I hope that I would be able to resist! Money does very strange things to people doesn’t it? Even forgetting the consequences of foolish actions, such as not thinking about the possibility of suffocating to death in a safe…hmmm. Thanks for sharing this very thought-provoking video.
Have a great weekend my dear friend and much lov and blessings to you… 😀 ❤

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right Sherri! Money does strange things to people… The guy could survive, though I hardly know how. I hope your week has been great, I can’t believe how the days fly! I would visit yours tomorrow, I’m certain you would have posted something great!

I really appreciate your comment and visit my dear friend!
Much love and hugs to you! 🙂 🙂

      • Sherri says:

Ahh…as I look forward very much to your visits my dear friend. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend and keeping cool in this humidity… 🙂 xx

  12. firecook says:

That was interesting the black hole .Makes sense about choices.

  13. Wow! Wow! WOW! Gave me goosebumps! Beware anything that will suck you into an inescapable hole. Thanks for sharing this, Seyi. I wonder where he went, though. Hmmm.

    • Seyi sandra says:

Thanks for reading Nadine, he went with his greed, stuck in the safe! He would have a lot of explaining to do in the morning I guess! Appreciate your visit.
      Blessings. 🙂

      • Ohhh. I thought that he disappeared into the ether, since the paper fell off the safe. But, you’re right. He would’ve fallen into the safe before the paper slipped off. He’s in a world of trouble, or probably dead. Not much air in that space to last him until the morning.

Thanks again. Blessings to you, too!

      • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right, he’s in big trouble! Hopefully, he would make enough ruckus to attract attention, and if he died… well his greed killed him!

        I really appreciate your thoughts!
        🙂 🙂

  14. Christina ~ says:

I couldn’t do it…I’d have so much guilt there’s no way. I manufacture guilt lol! 😉 To me it’s like lying…if you always tell the truth you never have to remember what you said….or so I paraphrase Mark Twain. I’d rather earn it….I think it would be so much more enjoyable than an illicit gain. Very thought-provoking! Hugs and wishes for a happy week!! 🙂

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right Christina, stealing and lying go hand in hand; the best thing is to enjoy what one has earned through hard work! I would definitely check everywhere with the black hole paper, but that would be out of curiosity only. Taking anything out is downright criminal!

I really appreciate your visit, I’ve missed reading your awesome poems, have a beautiful week and I’ll hop over now!

      Much love! 🙂

      • Christina ~ says:

I “ditto” your thoughts exactly! I would totally be curious as well…though with limits as we’ve said 🙂 ! I am hoping to catch up more, been gone so long…too long.

You’re awesome sweet to stop by and share your amazing thoughts! Thank you so much (again)! I hope your week is awesome and full of joy… Hugs! 🙂

  15. LOL!!! Temptation can be hard to resist but there are always consequences for the things that we do. Interesting video for sure

  16. unclerave says:

I think I might actually be able to handle it. I’m not generally a greedy person, so I’d use it like the parable of always having just enough in you pocket to pay for simple things. But, my biggest temptation – which I’d probably give into – would be to use it as Robin Hood would. I would use it to steal from the rich, to give to the poor. The 1% would be in for a world of trouble if I had one of these! — YUR

    • Seyi sandra says:

That’s commendable, taking from the rich and giving to the poor! It’s such a tempting scenario definitely! Although the problem with the guy in the film was greed – he wasn’t content with taking a few bundles, but all, and in the end, he locked himself in! 🙂

I appreciate your visit and comment dear friend!
      Blessings.

  17. utesmile says:

Serves him right, being greedy…. in the end… we are never satisfied with what we have we always want more and more… This is right down stealing but otherwise in life with everything … we are never happy we want more. Being grateful for what we have is the key!
    Great video! Thanks Seyi!

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right Ute. There’s this insatiable desire in humans to keep acquiring, even more that we need! And I echo your words, ‘Being grateful for what we have is the key!’ That pretty much sums it up.

Grateful for your visit my friend!
      Blessings. 🙂

  18. Wow, Seyi, this is so realistic. My teen daughter watched it with me, and she said that it’s exactly what people would do. I admit that the chocolate bars looked tempting (kidding).

    Blessings ~ Wendy ❀

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’re right Wendy, the chocolate looked tempting! 🙂 My husband showed the video to me and it was so believable. Even with no words, it was still powerful enough to convey a message of all sorts. I appreciate your visit dear friend!

Much love and blessings to you! 🙂

  19. Brilliant video, captures greed in its purest form, great short story. Take what you need and no more 🙂

  20. Eric Alagan says:

Victim of theft and fraud – I’ve experienced both.

  21. mintstatement says:

WOW! Greed can be so strong within human kind.

  22. gageier says:

Liebe Seyi einen schönen Abend mit vielen lieben Grüßen das ist ein schönes Foto vom Adler sieht toll aus eine schöne Woche wünsche ich dir

  23. I only get greedy for more of your posts, my dear Seyi– a very understandable temptation! : )

  24. johnymurad says:

wonderful video Seyi …thanks for reminding us that we should not be greedy no matter how much we have. We should always be grateful for what we have.
