Body of Clay – What Do You Stand For?

Paragon Of Beauty. Can You See Beyond Those Deep Lines Of Experience?

It’s sometimes funny the way we hold on to things, and I mean material things as if we are going to live forever. It’s an open secret that someday, we will call it a day on this part of heaven. We may try to change the subject or try to push it to the deep recess of our minds but our times here in this part of heaven is limited.

That’s just the basic truth.

The woman in the picture is beautiful, but she is aging, and afterward, she would become one with the earth. Studying her face, she seems to know who she is, and she also appears to be living a good life.

What about you? What do you stand for? What are your beliefs? Are you an ‘I’ person or a ‘We’ kind of person? (I want you to ponder on that and give me an answer in the comment section below).

I love taking good care of my body, and since finding out several of my physical limitations, it has not ceased to amaze me how fragile we are. I am now indulging myself in things that are really important and soul-satisfying.

I love smelling flowers, my house is littered with pots of flowers. I appreciate water, I watch mesmerised as it flows through my fingers. I love the sun, the ability to walk, run, and play is just beautiful. I appreciate that now.

Since our time is short, isn’t it foolhardy to fight or keep malice? War is a gory affair. Humanity has pillaged and wasted blood throughout the millennia. I watched the news with slight irritation as grown men are throwing insults at one another. They are actually playing with war, and it’s not pretty.

I urge you all to enjoy every minute of your time, even if we all live till hundred, one day, time will be up.

So let’s stand for all that is good, excellent, and kind.

Have a great weekend all!

Much love, always.:)

  1. A very interesting article. The woman in the picture is living well. She has this slight smile playing on her face. Also, the eyes, those are wise eyes. I like her. I’ll live well Seyi, thanks for the reminder!
    All the best.

  2. Great and inspirational write, my dear. 🙂

  3. Such a thought provoking post you’ve written, Seyi. Aging is a process we all will go through. I found that when iI became ill and it was much more difficult for me to do the simplest of things, I gained an insight that helped me to rise above myself. I accepted my limitations. I realized that I had a lot to offer from the years I had lived. And, that the body is but an instrument gathering knowledge to give to others as I journey to the greater place I will one day be a part of. Blessings to you my dear friend 🙏

We’re a close-knit and happy family. That makes us wealthy.

Thank you, Seyi dear. Your post hit all the right spots.

    God bless,
    Eric

That’s great Eric. Family, love, selflessness, that is a great life. I’m grateful you stopped by and I hope you’ll enjoy the rest of your weekend!
      Blessings to you.🙏

You couldn’t have said it better. “Our time is short and so we must enjoy every it of our lives”…”And no material things are just material things”…..
    Thank you Seyi. Great one…

Well said! As for me, I have, for far too long, been too much of an “I” person. I am learning to be more of a “we” person. Dallas Willard and some other authors have been helping me in this journey, as they remind me to follow Christ.

    • Seyi Sandra says:

I’m so glad you’re on a journey, as we all are in being selfless as Christ is, I wish you all the best my friend. And thanks for stopping by!
      Blessings to you. 🙏

I love to learn, as you know, I can’t take that knowledge with me (presumably) but passing it on, talking and finding a small place of my own in this universe is the way forward. Having gotten rid of most of my books, I now only really hang on to those I kept ad my laptop, everything else is unimportant, give me the people, the scenery and a cool fruit juice and I am happy to watch the world go by. Although I will take a stand against misinformation, hatred and the like though.

    • Seyi Sandra says:

You’ve gotten rid of your books? Oh wow! That’s really kind of you though. You’re right, real people makes a huge difference to one’s life. You’re living a good life my friend. I hope your week has been good!

It would have been too costly to transport them over to Asia but I am happy that other people will enjoy them and that I got to have them for a time. Sometimes I think books choose us and not the other way around.

Good advice. We have to learn to make the most of everyday while we still can!

  9. Hello my dear friend, it has been far too long. I have missed you greatly. I was away from blogging for quite some time last year as it was an incredibly difficult time, including but not limited to moving house and helping my mother move too so that we now live in one place, with her in an annex. It took 9 months to achieve and was the most incredibly stressful and difficult time. Also a very hard time for my Aspie youngest this past year or so and helping her through all of that…but one small step at a time and not taking one minute for granted. Like the beautiful woman above, and what a perfect example of living the life we have for the moment and like you, filling our lives with the simple beauty of those things that are most important. The love of family and friends. I lost a very dear friend in February, 34 years a friend. How I miss her. So grateful for her beautiful memory. Life is precious. I hope you are feeling much recovered and that life is treating you and your beautiful family well. I have been back to blogging somewhat since the new year and am still working on my memoir, now on my fourth draft with what I really hope are the last of my rewrites and reading to send to an editor by late spring I do so hope and pray! Coming up 5 years…but I will not give up! Have a wonderful weekend dear Seyi…so glad to find you again…I thought of you having just spent a couple of days in London and told myself, if there is one thing I must do this week, and that’s look you up! So here I am…and apologies for my long comment, but you know what I’m like… 🙂 ❤ xxx

Hello, my dearest friend! It’s been ages!! I have missed you so much too but my blogging had been sporadic at best. I had emergency surgery last year, then had a fallout from it and had been recuperating for a while. I’ve been off work for the better part of this year but I am improving slowly.
Moving house is a mammoth task, and you moved your mom too? That’s awesome, at least you’re close by which is great and it may take a while to settle in so I understand. I hope Aspie is ok? I’ll be praying for her.
I am so sorry you lost your friend at such a young age, it must be an incredibly difficult time. I hope you’ll continue to cherish her memories. Everything in life would end up in memories that’s the unavoidable truth. And another annoying fact is that time moves so fast, before we realise it, we’re ninety! Hopefully. 🙂
I hope your rewrites will be over soon, I can’t wait to read your book. I will go over to yours soon and read to my heart’s content. Next time you’re in London, please, let me know. Although my mobility is not a hundred percent, I would be ecstatic to see you!
There’s no need to apologise, I love reading, and writing long comments too.
Much love to you my friend!!
      🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

      • Dearest Seyi, it is wonderful to hear from you, I knew you had been unwell from last year, but didn’t now all you’ve been through and so very sorry to hear, but so glad you are on the mend. You have had a very rough time by the sounds of it, and I am glad you are taking the time to recouperate. Time does indeed fly, scarily so. I think of that every time I hit the rewrites – arrrgh, really need to finish it and knowing you still want to read it makes my day! I have gone through many ups and downs and had to put it on the back burner too many times, especially with moving house last year, but at last, God willing, I can find a way to crack on with settling in to our new way of life and the writing! Take good care of yourself my dear lovely friend, and oh, that day when we meet will come for sure and I will let you know, when you are feeling better. Take good care of yourself and so good to be in touch again. Much love and every blessing to you Seyi! 🙂 ❤ 🙂 xxxxxxx

Thank you so much for your lovely message dearest Sherri. And my sincere apologies for the late reply.
I am doing well, some days are great but others not so good. I have several hospital appointments still pending and several I had gone to. Thankfully, God had been faithful, although my healing is slow but surely I will get there.
I will read your memoir, and when I do, we would celebrate, both online and in the flesh!
My warm regards to your lovely family, I will stop by at yours soon. Much love and lots of blessings to you too my friend!
        🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

      • No apologies necessary my dear friend, always a pleasure to hear from you no matter what time of the day or night! I am so glad glad to hear you are doing well and on the path to full recovery, although it is going to take some time and so important you take this time to heal get fully well. I can’t wait to celebrate with you when that day comes my dear Seyi! I am pressing on with my rewrites and can see the end coming into vision, ready to send it for a professional edit. I feel like I am at the last push and in many ways, the hardest. Delving down deep for those rewrites but not giving up! I haven’t blogged for two months, and hope to next week with an update, having just moved my youngest back home and just about emerging from all that’s happened this past year. Exhausting times, as we both know. Thank you dear Seyi, I send you and your beautiful family love and hugs and every blessing and look forward to catching up with you very soon. Have a wonderful holiday weekend until then! 🙂 ❤ 🙂 xxx

Truer words were never spoken: “…as grown men are throwing insults at one another. They are actually playing with war, and it’s not pretty.”

That struck a chord hard–a discordant one, signaling the potential end of all times. (I guess I need a second cup of tea before I’m going to find my sense of balance this morning.)
