A loud, noisy world.
Cacophony of sounds
reverberated everywhere.
Hatred danced openly,
while love is in remission.
Wars and rumours
of war danced freely on our streets.
Toddlers were afraid to chuckle.
A little peace, a little love
We Plead.
But instead
We got
Bullet wounds.
Snipers.
Terrorists.
And paedophiles,
Roamed freely.
A loud, Noisy World.
I hope for peace
and pray for love.
Elusive as it is…
I won’t give up!
It seems killings, deaths, wars has become a bit of a pastime in the world now, Kenya‘s mall killings, Pakistani Christians (women and children murdered), the naval base killings in the U.S, Syria‘s on going war, turmoil in Egypt, Philippine‘s rebels. The list is endless. My daughter asked me yesterday, ‘mum, why can’t we have peace in the world?’ I had no answer to her question. She’s just seven, yet, I can’t shield her from the cruelty of our world. The noise is a constant ringing sound… but you know me, I’m a diehard optimist – I still believe we can live in peace, we just need to start acting it. Like that picture, I hopefully long for peace and quietness in our world…
I pray you’ll all have a peaceful week, and please keep safe!
Much love, always!
🙂
A heart wrenching poem if I may say, but true nonetheless! I hope peace will find us in this world… Though we need to work at it. You have a heart of gold, keep up the good work!
🙂
Christy Nelson. 🙂
Thanks for your comment Christy, I write from the heart, and I second your opinion, we really need to work at achieving peace in our world. Thanks for the visit!
🙂
I know you do, and you write truthfully too. An unbiased flow of creativity! Keep it up!
🙂
Thanks Christy!
🙂
You’re welcome!
🙂
Your words are indeed, from the Heart. Peace: ALWAYS hoping for Peace.
Thanks Nawfal, I hope we’ll get to that realm of peace in the world! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for Reblog!
Much love. 🙂
Very well written – well “captured” words… 🙂
Thanks Drake, I’m grateful for your visit!
Blessing. 🙂
You are so right. You would always think people learn from old wars… never – it continues wiht violence unfortunately. I f only there would be more love, acceptance and tolerance in this world.
You’re right Ute, people never learn! It seems the human race is the only specie that has thirst to spill more blood and it’s sickening. Thanks for stopping by dear friend!
The answer to your daughter’s question is one word……”SIN”. If God would remove His “common grace” from this world……we would self destruct. The good news is the fact that God is re-creating. I pray that God the Father will take your daughter and give her to His Son. She will have peace in this life…..and for all eternity in the next life.
John 6:37…”All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
You’re right, we’ll self destruct if He takes his grace! My daughter knows the Lord already, we all do in my family. She was sad about the killings of Christians in Pakistan, we all were…
Thanks for your words of wisdom, I appreciate your visit dear friend!
Blessings. 🙂

“THEY CRIED PEACE, PEACE, WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE” (Jeremiah 6:14)…TAKES AWARENESS AND PRAYER.
Thanks for the Reblog Jonathan, I’m grateful! We should never tire to pray!!
🙂
I HAVE NOMINATED YOU FOR THE “OPPOSITES-ATTRACT AWARD!!!! I was nominated by a female of the cat persuasion (or her Mommie, blogging in the guise of Nellie Cat) and thus I nominate you…even though I am not a cat…perhaps a cool one, but not a feline! 🙂 Check my site soon for the particulars….I’ve re-blogged Nellie’s post already. 🙂 Sure hope you will accept…even tho’ I am spoken for!
Awwww! Thanks Jonathan for that honour, I’m very grateful, I’ll hop over to yours and take a peek!! Thanks for stopping by!! 🙂
And it’s NOT REALLY TRUE…but I’m a little jealous of your time over at “my” OTHER blog…but Ron Dubour deserves more attention than he’s getting!!! 🙂 I like his stuff, but we’ve always had different styles and approaches…which is one reason why I started BY THE MIGHTY MUMFORD…to do my own thing.
Awwww! Okay, I’ll stay at Ron’s blog then, could you please send me the blog’s link? That way I’ll stay on top of the posts!
Much love. 🙂
“Love is in remission”…enough said!
As a homicide detective, I deal with the ugliness of life and death almost every day. If it were not for my faith in God, I would be jaded and cynical. But like you, I am forever the optimist. If we each ‘police’ our corner of the world with peace and love, then each one will reach one with love and peace. Our love can’t be in remission!
Beautiful but sadly true poem
Blessings always Seyi 😉

You’re a homicide detective? Wow, I’m glad you’re a woman of faith indeed. God makes a difference in our lives and you said it right, policing our corner of the world would surely change things. Thanks for your visit and insightful comment!
Blessings. 🙂
So sad that the world is filled with so much hate. Something has to give.
I too keep hoping & praying for a better world.
At the same time I try to hold on & embrace the love that so many still have & share with others.
And – I try to do the same.
Much love & big hugs to you Seyi Sandra 🙂
Continue to pray my dear friend and give as much love as you can, that way, we can win against evil my friend! I appreciate your visit and comment!
Much love! 🙂 🙂
That is a powerful and real haunting poem you have there, Sandra. Ghana lost one of her illustrious sons in the Nairobi carnage. He was emeritus professor of English and Literature, a poet, writer and a former ambassador to the UN and former chairman of the Council of State. Prof. Kofi Awonoor will be missed greatly. His legacy lives on in our hearts.
His legacy lives on my friend, Prof. Kofi Awonoor was such a great force of creativity, loved by all. I had tears in my eyes when I heard of his passing at the Kenya massacre, but what can we say? We live in a world filled with unspeakable hatred… even animals don’t kill each other like humans do.
Great post, Seyi. It’s so sad that children worry about the horrors of the world; I wish they could just laugh and play, but I know that’s naive.
I wish for the same thing, but it appears innocence has been taken away from them too soon, we can’t really shield them from the graphic realities of our world – we can try, by telling them bad people do these things but still, they would ask more questions! God help us all.
Sometimes I wish could escape from the pains and troubles of this world. Atrocities seem to be on the rise each day and when someone says “in the good old days …” I wonder what legacy we are leaving for the younger generation. Like you, I have made a resolve to say the truth and fight for what is right.
Please keep on writing these inspirational and encouraging words and poems. We need all the strength we can gather to move on.
Very current, Seyi, unfortunately. The incident in Kenya is so sad. Your plea for better day is a good one and I join you in urging others to turn away from weapons and turn toward peaceful measures instead.
Peace without fear, without reprisals over differences, much to learn where children tread, speak, ask, and listen… Have a good week..

Hate always shouts louder than love. That is why I like you site so much; you always preach and show love. Thank you so much and Thank you for letting me know that you liked my post, “River Congo – Excerpt 10” on papermudandme.wordpress.com. That is a real encouragement. Thanks so much Paul, I’ll stop over at yours to read your new post! Have a great weekend!
🙂
I just posted a poem “Seeds of Hope” I started it last week and finished this morning. It is pretty much saying the same thing. The many blogs I read and the friends I have on FB that want peace it’s amazing that so much ugliness surrounds us.
