Vapours In The Wind…

Your smile stayed glued to my brain.

Your laughter echoes through my mind.

Your voice stayed with me as I pen this words.

Life is like vapours in the wind, so fleeting, so quick.

You spoke a few words this morning,

You even smiled amidst your pain.

And then you breathe your last!

My heart trembled with shock.

My tears were hot on my cheeks.

It was so quick dear friend.

You left too early.

My fingers ache.

I’ll be taking a week’s break from blogging. A very dear friend of mine died this morning, and in respect to him and his family, I’ll stay away for a while. Life is fleeting I know but when you love someone dearly and they leave when you least expected, its shattering. I’ll be back next Friday.

Live well dear friends, love from me to you!

      • Alastair says:

        How are you doing?

      • Seyi sandra says:

I’m much better, he was buried today! It’s final! His kids are distraught, his wife is very ill. But he’s got loads of friends – there’s always someone with the family. We practically grew up together, so he’s like an older brother. How’s your daughter? Hope she’s much better!

      • Alastair says:

She had a seizure last week, but that seems to have been the last of it escaping her. Just waiting for blood test results now.

Losing someone is never easy. It’s good that he has loads of people who can help him though

      • Seyi sandra says:

Oh my! I hope the test result will not show anything bad. She’s young, I’m sure she’ll beat whatever it is!
Thanks Alastair. I know I have a lot of catching up to do on your blog but I’ll get there!
        My love to your daughter.

Thank you Wendy! I believe he’s safe now from the toils of this life – that didn’t dull the pain though, it still hurts! I appreciate your kindness Wendy.

I hope you are okay re the death. A week off blogging is a good idea, though this week is now behind you & you are no doubt back at it all. This reminds me of a quote I read, “I can sum up all life taught me in three words: it goes on”. True.

    • Seyi sandra says:

So true! It was a horrible time – though I’m still in shock, the fact that he left a legacy of love and laughter was a solace! Thanks for your kind words!

  35. My deepest sympathies on the loss of your friend. It is always hardest on the one left behind but the cherished memories they left you will remain softly in your heart. If your friend was a Christian then we shouldn’t be sad, it wasn’t goodbye, it was a graduation ceremony! They are experiencing unbelievable joy at this very moment and wouldn’t want you to be sad. The lovely poem you wrote was a testimony to a life that touched you forever and you’ll see them again. Thank you for finding me and I look toward to reading more of your sweet posts. Blessings,

    • Seyi sandra says:

Thank you Ellie for your kindness! He was a committed Christian and for that, I thank God daily. It’s just his young family that broke my heart – his kids were still so young, the youngest is just two. But the God who knows all things would keep his lovely children and distraught wife. I appreciate your visit and comment. I love your blog, and I look forward to reading more of your posts!
      Much love. 🙂

  36. A lovely tribute and remembrance, Seyi. You are a true friend. Sorry to be so late in offering my condolences on your loss.
