Remember The Wind…

(Fly With The Wind KIM)

Yesterday, I found out about the passing of my friend, a prolific writer, and a wonderful poet,  Kimberly Wilhelmina Floria https://silentlyheardonce.wordpress.com/ and my heart broke into a million pieces. Kim fought a brave battle but has decided to rest. However, she has left us with several words of wisdom. While reading her poignant poem below, I felt a searing pain in my chest thinking of all the times I’ve wasted fighting needless battles, blocking the sun and escaping the breeze.

Three weeks ago I was wheeled out of the operating theatre after an emergency surgery, for a fleeting moment, the thought passed through my mind, ‘what if this is the end?’

All that’s going to change now. To celebrate her life, we need to ponder on now, this moment, we should imprint every memories so that when our time comes, we would have lived!

I think what Kim was trying to say is this:

Folks, enjoy the sun, stop gossiping, a hundred years can pass away in a blink! I really miss you Kim, continue to write for the angels… Adieu old friend.

IF ONLY…

if I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would slow down and notice . . .
what was taken for granted . . .

like dazzling sun risings . . .
drops of dew on spring leaves . . .
laughter roaring in the distant . . .
while tears flow with sorrow . . .

if I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would remember the taste . . .
of the ocean spray . . .
as warm sun’s rays turned to sweat . . .

I would raise my arms above my head . . .
and run and run and remember the wind . . .
gently slapping my face . . .

if I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would imprint my little babies hands on my cheek . . .
I would bottle their scents forever in my memory . . .

I would smile more and cry less . . .
I would live in the moment . . .
forgive the past and wait for the future . . .

if I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would love without judgment . . .
I would love without expectation . . .
I would love yes I would love free . . .

I would not hear gossip . . .
malice wouldn’t exist . . .
negatively would be a waste . . .
a waste of precious time . . .

if only . . .
if only I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would live insanely in joy . . .
every moment invested . . .
happiness and contentment . . .
my valuable stock . . .

my memory would be long . . .
every word spoken . . .
every dream dreamt . . .
every soul I met would have a place . . .
in my recollection today . . .

if I could see tomorrow today . . .
I would slow down . . .
notice the emotions . . .
embrace the moments . . .
each precious one . . .

The Irrefutable Light…

16702_408559629222429_1578123596_n

”We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call to attention their shinning – they just shine.” Dwight L. Moody

What Jesus did and is still doing for humanity is simple. He became our light, he simply allowed himself to align with our frailty, weakness, and mortality and when he did that, we became one with Him when we believe. Jesus is the irrefutable sacrifice, the ultimate hope of eternity. In Him, we have the hope that even though our time in this world is limited, our joy in heaven is limitless.

The international rock star and social activist, Bono’s song about Yahweh capture my mood in this beautiful season, his quote on Christ was spot on. Please watch if you’ve got the time.

”But with Christ, we have access in a one-to-one relationship, for, as in the Old Testament, it was more one of worship and awe, a vertical relationship. The New Testament, on the other hand, we look across at a Jesus who looks familiar, horizontal. The Combination is what makes the Cross.” Bono

I love this song below, it sent me down memory lane.

”Outside of the cross of Jesus Christ, there is no hope in this world. That cross and resurrection at the core of the Gospel is the only hope for humanity. Wherever you go, ask God for wisdom on how to get that Gospel in, even in the toughest situations of life.” Ravi Zacharias.

Jesus is our hope in this world of sin and imperfection. Let Him be your friend, He’s already mine!

I hope all my Christian friends would have a wonderful Easter, Jesus lives! And to my non-Christian friends, I love you still, have  a fantastic holiday!

Much love, always! 🙂

A Taste Of Heaven

Buttermere, Lake District National Park

(Lake District, England)

I was flying, at least several feet above the ground. I felt the warm sun on my face and the gentle breeze became my new lover by caressing my face. I saw a sea of sunflowers swaying to an imaginary music. The sight stunned me as I watched mesmerised by the awesomeness of it all. My soul was at ease, all my problems floated away into nothingness. I couldn’t remember where I was coming from or where I was going.

I was static but not in a bad way.

I knew I still had a body but didn’t feel any urge to check what I looked like. I felt a tingle on my toes and the sun shone so bright my eyelids almost hurt. I wanted to reach out and touch it, naturally, I wanted to stay there forever. I heard soft murmurings from afar and gradually, it developed into a chorus of some kind. My eyes flickered to the sunflowers again, the soft chorus emanating from the distance further heightened my sense of euphoria.

I watched and waited for what seemed like years. In the distant, I saw a hill covered in flowers I couldn’t possibly describe. It was an awesome experience. And then, I woke up and saw the worried faces of my sisters…

You can read more on this story here: https://seyisandradavid.org/2012/11/14/death-and-the-angels-of-mercy/

I’ve read and heard countless debates about life after death, my position is simple enough. I’m a firm believer in life after death. The universe and everything in it didn’t happen because of some flimsy big bang theory. It’s more than that.

The events described above were real. I had that strange experience after my heart stopped on the operating table several years ago. I didn’t see any angels but I totally experienced a brief taste of heaven and believe  me, it was as real as my fingers punching away on the laptop.

We live in a wonderful world, however, there are worlds beyond our human comprehension, beauty beyond any language known to man. I think that’s why I write more about the supernatural, I’ve experienced it so many times, I know God is real and He loves us so much.

I’ll stop here and hope all my friends would enjoy the rest of their week!

Much love, always! 🙂

What Is Our LIfe!

1421108_36471085

”WHAT is our life? A play of passion,

Our mirth the music of division,

Our mothers’ wombs the tiring-houses be,

”Where we are dressed for this short comedy,

Heaven the judicious sharp spectator is,

That sits and marks still who doth act amiss.

Our graves that hide us from the searching sun

Are like drawn curtains when the play is done.

Thus march we, playing, to our latest rest.

Only we die in earnest, that’s no jest.”

SIR WALTER RALEIGH (1554-1618)

I love Sir Walter Raleigh‘s poems, it’s poignant, somewhat melancholic but true. He hits the cord in the right places for me, and in a way, I want to be reminded of my fallibility, hence, my love for this morbid poem (so says my friend) Life is deceitfully short but our footsteps can still lead to great things if we so wish! My only prayer is, may generations yet unborn, write our stories well.

Have a great week ahead!

Much love, always.
