A Safe Haven!

I just can’t keep quiet, my heart is heavy, my spirit is crushed.

I looked round wildly like a horse in darkness and couldn’t make a sense of this horrific, senseless killing.

I couldn’t get the image of the deranged killer out of my mind.

I couldn’t sleep.

I believe in peace but this is too much to bear.

This is a wonderful world,

But this is also a violent world!

How can one truly explain this?

Britain is a safe haven,

A great country fighting for justice,

She has opened her arms wide,

Invited people of all nations through her borders.

Yet, some people would not be satisfied.

They would kill in the name of a spineless god.

Thousands have been killed in the name of religion,

But I still believed in this safe haven.

My prayers to the mother and family of the slain soldier.

He is a hero, to me and many other mothers like me.

God bless Great Britain.

I have tried to avoid watching television but reading newspapers this morning, brought hell. This is bad, and sickening. Something must be done. There is so much violence in the world, and violence would not end wars.

Live well dear friends.

Much love, always!

  1. A great post, such horrific acts should not be encouraged or justified in any form. Thank you for your courage! God bless you Ms. Seyi Sandra David.

  2. Beautifully stated. I was mortified, as well, but unable to put this into words as eloquently as you just did.

There will always be scum like him. The fact that he picked someone out to record him. He is vile. I can understand why others didn’t get involved, they were scared of being killed themselves. He just acted like he had been to the shop. It was sickening

It’s horrible Alastair, believe me I couldn’t sleep! I wish people had rushed and subdued them, I know others might get hurt but it’s just appalling that the poor soldier could have been saved… I wished those murderers would rot in hell for that vile, horrific acts! I’m so angry!

      • Alastair says:

Death is too good for them. What I would like to do to them would probably give you nightmares. I have a very dark side, and they would get the brunt of it.

I wish they’d been hacked the same way – this might probably sound harsh but emotions are running high, and I do understand. Islam is said to be a peaceful religion, yet, this acts of terrorism happens every time, perpetrated by Muslims or their converts! I might have lost a few followers due to my post…

      • Alastair says:

That would be a shame as you have just expressed your own views.

      • Seyi sandra says:

Haaaa! I’m a Christian Alastair, but this is even too much for me to bear!

      • Seyi sandra says:

I don’t really care! Somebody must stand up for the truth!! People have been quiet for too long. If Britain should pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan today, there would be something else to infuriate this warped minded individuals. Those terrorists are just vile and sick!!

      • Alastair says:

They are. They say it’s this or that. What they really mean is “we want to kill someone”. If they want to kill someone, they should kill themselves

      • Seyi sandra says:

They should, and we’d be rid of their scum!

“…Thousands have been killed in the name of religion…”
    +
    – yes that’s sad – and is going on daily …
    sometimes I think,
it would be better to have no religions at all –
maybe then we would have more peace …

    • Seyi sandra says:

Yes I know, many people would say that, and right now I can’t fault it…

I hear that; but this like so many incidents are about isolated individuals who use religion to incite hatred. Not one religion that I know of ever incites hatred. Thousands have killed and been killed in the name of religion, but like other teachings, in the name of science in the name of racial superiority in the name of money and so on and so forth have been killed. Its people and the choices they make. For every person who is killed by so called believers (extremists and fanatics) there are others who have been saved in various ways by the goodness of people who have faith and choose to exercise its core values of helping one another regardless of colour, creed or faith. Its sad, very sad. I was just down the road and I heard it all kicking off when the police were driving down the Old Peckham Road. I’m a south-east londoner and I have never ever witnessed anything like this before. Everyone seems to be bandying together now, but all i can think of is Lee Rigby, his parents, his 2 year old son…his last steps.

It was such a sad and sickening crime! If you’ve read most of my blog posts; I believe in love, I even wrote novel about conquering darkness through love. And I’ve finally realised one thing, which is choice. Those two killers chose to kill that young man, they chose their paths. Religion has saved a lot like you rightly said, and I agree – but we’re ultimately responsible for how we interpret our faiths. I truly appreciate your visit and comment! Enjoy the rest of your day.
        Blessings.

  5. I feel your frustration and despair, Seyi. So much violence and no respite in sight

He was a 25 year old soldier with a little kid. This is senseless. For some, it just confirms what so many people are already thinking.

Beautiful words as always. I know that’s probably not what you want to hear at this time, but it’s kind of what a lot of people are thinking and feeling.

  9. My heart was breaking as I read the account. So much hatred and anger. How do we stop it? We MUST find a way

Liebste Seyis ja der Urlaub ist zu Ende und der Alltag beginnt wie immer es war ein schöner Urlaub sei ganz herlichst gegrüßt Klaus

Too much madness in this world. It truly breaks my heart to see how the human race has “evolved.”
    Something has to give.
    God help us all.

You are right we have to be worry,.In a world who can be so peaceful and beautiful some persons don’t want this quietness, why they don’t leave our planet and go to Mars! Loved your poem with very wise words 🙂
