‘Patience is the least of my virtues,’ someone said in a film I watched years ago and I agreed. Patience, and waiting, walk hand in hand. We wait for great things to happen, we wait for bad things to go away, we wait for a lot of stuff while we should and could be doing something about it. I hate waiting, although sometimes, it’s a necessary part of life, waiting for exams, waiting to get a job, waiting to get married, waiting to give birth, waiting to succeed, waiting for this, waiting for that!
Why not just take Bradley’s advice and infuse your life with action.
Maybe, it’s time to really just move…

That’s powerful Paul, with your permission, I’ll use this quote in one of my post. I don’t like waiting, I’m always on the move, except when I’m ill or tired. Then, I’ll rest and go on. Life would be completely boring if we keep waiting for things to change.

I am – WAY behind on finishing it as my family and I continue to try and settle back in to British life (plus four books of my own I’m trying to finish writing!) but I AM reading and enjoying and will be writing up on it soon. You still need to put a piece on my blog about it too (hint hint 😉 )

Thanks Seyi – the four books are all completely different. Only one is a novel in actual fact and it is the final drafting I’m completing. The other three are non-fiction so no need to worry about character overlap!

True words Seyi. Sometimes we shouldn’t just stand around doing nothing, we should and ought to make things happen. There are certain situations in life where we can’t really do much but wait. However, there are other times when we simply need to move! Great post!

I loved this post, it really spoke to me. I have been having this type of talk with myself lately. I need to take more action but I find sometimes I just do not know what to do ? I agree many of us spend too much time waiting and need to do more. I will work harder on finding actions to take !! Thanks for such a great reminder of how much time we can waste in our wonderful lives, waiting for things to happen instead of making them happen !!
I’m glad you like it dear friend. Mind you, we just don’t need to take any actions blindly – there is a learning process, a time to realise what we need to do per time and how to do it well. Then our miracle is just a stone throw away!

Yes indeed, doing stuff and changing up to do the things you want is the wisest course of action in life, it’s an important lesson to learn…Although I will skip on the pregnancy bit…

I believe it’s both. There is a time to wait and a time to act. For me the quote by Whitford tends to be a little unbalanced.
You can look at it two ways, that was why I said there are things we can’t control – hence we got no choice than to wait and there are such times when waiting is akin to laziness and that was why I love Whitford’s quote. I appreciate your visit and comment.

Actually no. Lamenting is another kind of action though, I was trying to refer to that refraining from action transcends emotions such as lamentation. There may of course often.be several levels of meaning and interpretation in scriptural passages in a number of religions.
