The Supernatural…

The Superntural

This is a true story, please read on…

Gross darkness blanket our street as ravenous fever raged through my body like an inferno. My mom mopped my body with towels trying to bring the rampaging fever down. I  watched with trepidation, my lips parched and dry.

It dawned on me that if I survive the night, I would be in the clear, but morning was like light years away. My mom looked at me with a mournful expression in her brown expressive eyes.

”You should have given your consent.”

”No mom,” I whispered with a vigorous shake of my head. I refused surgery because I had premonitions it would only worsen my condition.

Let me rewind back, to a week earlier…

I was a boisterous nineteen year old university girl. I was popular, well liked and friendly. Hardly would you see me with a frown, I was always smiling, why not? Life was good. My boyfriend ( now my husband) was one of the nicest man on campus, my course work was excellent but everything changed one windy night when I had a sharp pain in my left  ear.

I thought nothing of it until almost a week later when I couldn’t hear properly, my condition rapidly disintegrated overnight and my boyfriend brought me home. My dad bundled me into  his car and off we go!

At the hospital, the doctor did all sorts of tests and the final verdict was I had a growth in my ear and surgery was the right course of treatment but I refused and he sent me home with some medications. My neck was immobile, I couldn’t turn my head, I couldn’t eat and my ear hurt like hell, it was as if my throat was on fire! I was now torn between the devil and the deep blue sea, I chose the sea and my dad brought me back home.

I strode to my room and laid on my bed wondering if I had made the right decision. An earlier explosion on a transformer had plunged the street into darkness, my mom had left a lantern in my room but it suddenly went off. I listened to my breathing as pain racked through my body. The pain killers and antibiotics were powerless against the ferocious attack and I slowly drifted off into a dreamless slumber.

I don’t know how long I slept for but I woke up to a strange feeling, I was no longer alone, I wanted to call out but my voice was gone and I prayed this simple prayer.

God, if you are real, please heal me now,”

prayer.. (Photo credit: aronki)

Few minutes after my prayer, I heard soft tapping on my bedroom floor…one…two…three and I felt a hand on my left shoulder and I heard this words,

”I am here,”

And peace washed over me and I was off again, this time around I must have slept for hours because when I woke up, everywhere was silent.

I stood up and the first thing I realise was, I could move my neck.

My throat was clear and my white night-dress was soaked with pus coming from my ear, I could swallow.

I’ve been healed!

That experience was so real and I knew God answers prayers. That was my first tangible experience with the supernatural!

That was one of the reasons why I write supernatural thrillers, has anyone else experienced some strange encounters? I’ll love to read your story.

Thanks for reading my post:)

This is awesome! God is very real and does hear us. My niece’s daughter recently told the family at the Christmas party that Grandma comes to her at night and sits with her on her bed to chat. My mother passed this past April first. Indeed, there is life after this life. So glad you are well 🙂

I am so sorry for your loss John and that was a very beautiful story. Mine happened eighteen years ago, I was nineteen then but the experience stayed with me. There are times when I questioned God about certain things in my life but once I reflected on so many times He’s proved Himself in my life, I tend to have more faith. Thanks for stopping by!
    Love and peace-:)

I am not looking for supernatural thing, there are many similar stories from Christians as well as from Buddhists, but they are not of my concerns. When my mom was lying on the bed in the ward and in the nursing home for three months. I came to her bedside everyday, and whispered softly to her, ‘Mom, please do not be afraid, I am here with you.’ Then I hold her hand, put my another hand through her neck, hold her up and give her a hug. She also passed away in my hug.

There is always a miracle awaiting when we have so much love for each other, even though it does not happen the way we wish for, but it does happen through nourishing of our soul. 🙂

Thank you too for sharing your stories.

  6. I often get off track with my faith in God, reading about your miracle gets me on track again and makes me feel happier that there’s someone bigger than all of us whom I can always rely on. Thanx Seyi 🙂

    What an amazing story!

My wife and I and oldest daughter were travelling one day, to visit one of my grandmothers. This was many years ago, before the youngest was born. Our daughter was in the back seat, in a child seat, asleep. We were driving through Dallas, and it had rained recently, a lot. A part of the road had standing water on it. My wife was driving, and when we hit the water, we began to hydroplane, drifting toward a truck pulling a flatbed in the center lane (we were in the left lane, and traffic was going the posted speed). The car wouldn’t turn, and my wife was saying, “We’re going to wreck!” All of a sudden, the car lurched to the left, away from the traffic in the center lane. We struck the guardrail, but only a glancing blow, no damage to the car, other than some paint scraped off the bumper. To this day, I believe an angel grabbed the front of our car and pushed it away from the other traffic. Our daughter never even woke up, through the whole thing.

Oh my God! that was a miracle Jeff!! I definitely believed you were pulled to safety by an angel. God saves and cares for his own. Thank you so much for sharing this, I got goose pimples reading it and thank you for stopping by my blog.

This is a memorable story and I am glad you cared to share it with us. Your faith I admire the most in such a situation. It really touched me about your refusal with regards to surgery.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Seyi sandra says:

I don’t know why I refused surgery but I was glad I did. Till today, I’d never experienced any form of ear problem. Thanks for your comment and stopping by my blog Uzoma, I really appreciate it! Cheers-:)

  10. This happened to my brother…He had met with an accident and had dislocated his jaw… The doctors looking at the X-RAY suggested that a surgery be done…But this was a time in our lives where in money was scarce and we were going through financial turmoil…Frankly we could’nt afford it :)…So my dad(who is strong in faith) asked all of us to keep it in prayer.. My brother too prayed from his heart…Very sincerely…That night instead of sleeping in this room, he slept on the couch downstairs….Half way into his sleep he had a cracking pain in his jaw and he jumped up from his sleep because of the pain for a moment…. He went back to sleep and the next morning he was perfectly fine….The doctors were amazed themselves and said it was a miracle…The X-RAY taken again showed that the jaw was in perfect alignment :)… Praise God :)…

I believe that God works miracles depending on the faith of the person. It’s something to do with the intensity with which we pray 🙂

You’re so right, we cannot receive anything without faith. That was an amazing testimony, it shows the effectiveness of prayer!! Thank you for sharing your story and stopping by my blog. Merry Christmas!!!

When it comes to faith, you sometimes forget that God doesn’t live our life. you do!
