And They Were Men!

Glenda Otero

(Glenda Otero)

Rippling muscles, maybe none!

Great smiles, baritones voices;

They searched for food, they found a home,

They looked for success, they found contentment,

Great men don’t have to be in your screens,

Great men were not born

They were made.

Not all are fathers…

Not all fathers are great…

Some, were just men.

One great man said,

”No other success in life – not being President, wealthy, or going to college, or writing a book, or anything else – comes up to the success of the MAN ( or woman) who can feel that they have done their duty and their children and grandchildren rise up and call them blessed!”

                                                                                                                                                                         ”President Theodore Roosevelt

I think President Roosevelt was right. Nowadays, we  have so many absentee fathers but I’m not going to dwell on that today! I just want to praise great men, like my dad, my husband, Alastair Forbes, Freddie, Roderick Craig Low… just a few among the throng of really great men. Happy father’s day to you guys, we (your daughters, wives, partners, friends,) appreciate you.

I hope you are enjoying your day and I hope you’ll have a fantastic week as well.

Much love, always!

Awesome post Seyi. Sorry, I thought that was me at first (sorry, I should not have thought that. I guess my ego got too big)

Anyway, I hope you have a great day today, and I am sorry

    Reblogged this on The ObamaCrat.Com™.

  3. Well said. Too much value is placed on shallow, hollow things. As the song goes, “what the world needs now is love sweet love,” and that’s a good part of what makes a man a dad.

From a Dad, thanks for the remembering, the reminding, and the focus on what is important.

Excellent written, dear you – precisely, not all men are fathers as not all women are mothers – but there is certainly greater proportion of women who are mothers than men who are fathers – even if we wanted we can not always change nature… 😉

Many men come into conflict between being a father and being a man – do not understand why it comes down to that – because I think it is a mistake that there would be a conflict – perhaps it is because we men are more vulnerable than we want to admit – at some point in my life, I was both single father and busy business man – I think it went very well both – it’s all about planning and converting priority – if you do not want the role of the father in the “the game” called “Father, Mother and children “- so we need to say it straight and don’t fret over the fact that we not only can get something but also have to give something – if we really want to do it… 🙂

Nowadays it’s much about “what do I get out of it” instead of what must I do to be successful… 🙂 😉

Thank you dear friend! I’m glad you’re honest about more women being great mothers than fathers – well, I guess it’s the nature of women. But I’ve also seen great fathers who have excelled. And you’ve just shed a lot of insight into men, being afraid and such! 😉 But like you said, you’ve done it and it wasn’t rocket science… Men are scared than they are letting on, and few men can admit to what you’ve just written! You’ve expounded on the subject so well and I appreciate you for it! Thank you dear friend… Again!
      Much love. 🙂

A great write for celebrating Father’s Day. Cheers to all the great men who uphold their responsibilities as Father’s!

Aw, this is such a wonderful post. With love a man turns to be a tender loving being that shows care and concern. Most good fathers today made a personal decision to do the right thing.
