Versatile Writer, Filmmaker and Editor
Seyi Sandra David’s journey into the writing world began at an early age. Despite publishers deeming her first novel, ‘Jesse, It’s You I Love,’ penned at thirteen, as too ‘mature,’ she remained undeterred. Her spirit unbroken, she pushed forward, completing her high school education with determination. Her thirst for knowledge led her to pursue a degree in English Language at the university.
After graduation, she secured a position at the local state newspaper, ‘People’s Advocate.’ Through diligence and dedication, she ascended the ranks, eventually achieving the esteemed role of senior correspondent attached to the State House of Assembly. Sandra’s academic pursuits didn’t stop there; she obtained a master’s degree in creative, digital, and professional writing with an exceptional Merit award, excelling in numerous modules.
Sandra’s talents extend beyond writing; she is also an accomplished filmmaker. Her inaugural documentary, ‘Chasing Humans,’ is a poignant piece aimed at dismantling stereotypes and unconscious racial biases plaguing young black men in London and the UK. The film’s premiere garnered acclaim, earning it a place as one of the standout productions at the London Mets Final Cuts film festival in June 2020.
Armed with years of experience in print and digital media, she assesses manuscripts and is integral in shaping the publishing landscape, identifying fitting manuscripts and spearheading new literary endeavours. Demonstrating her multifaceted skills, Sandra presently holds the esteemed title of Publishing Director at Arrow Gate Publishing, an independent literary house in London.
Her second documentary, ‘The Human Story,’ graced the digital screens of YouTube in 2021, adding another achievement to her growing repertoire. In addition to her filmmaking prowess, Sandra’s versatility shines through in her written works. Her debut fiction, ‘The Impossible President,’ penned in 2004, sheds light on the pervasive gender inequality that persists across the globe.
S.S. David’s narrative journey encompasses resilience, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to challenging societal norms through the art of storytelling. She is a resilient writer, filmmaker, and editor, challenging norms through storytelling.

The book, set in Nigeria, tells the story of an inexperienced young woman in a misogynistic and conservative society where men dominate every sphere of operations and women have no business running the country’s affairs. The plot details the struggle of the female protagonist, Sharon Nwosu, and her fight against corruption, terrorism and the tragedies that haunt her at every turn. The novel celebrates womanhood and the ability to dream big and work hard towards achieving it. The second edition of the book will be out before Christmas 2023.

Sandra David established herself as a literary force with the publication of ‘The Feet Of Darkness.’ The novel sheds light on the struggles of a British scientist who finds himself embroiled in a plot that will change his life forever and the world. Published in 2007, Arrow Gate released the second edition in 2013.

Her latest work of fiction is a supernatural thriller titled ‘Cydonia: Rise of the fallen’, available wherever books are sold. Readers can buy directly here: https://arrowgatepublishing.com/store/. Readers can buy the Kindle and print editions on Amazon websites and other online retailers such as Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Book Depository, Waterstones and WHSmith. The paperback and Kindle edition of her new short story, ‘Tales Of Five Lies’, is also available on Amazon websites.

Sandra David has written several works of fiction, and the second edition of her novella, ‘Tales of Five Lies’ is available now.
CYDONIA: RISE OF THE FALLEN
” A mere thirty days…
… is what ex-priest Aaron Cohen has to stop a devastating attack on earth from elusive and ruthless forces, but events soon took an alarming turn. The Vatican came under attack when a demonic bloodhound under the command of Tyrus, Lucifer’s son, went on a rampage. They left destruction on their trail.
As events unfolded with alarming speed, Aaron Cohen’s life spiralled out of control, chased by forces beyond human comprehension; he embarked on an adventure to protect the Ark of the Covenant and the stones of fire from brutal forces intent on annihilating humanity. Set against an extraordinary and enigmatic church of St Mary, Axum in Ethiopia, Aaron fought with demons, escaped assassins’ bullets, and every attempt to halt impending doom seemed slimmer.
The novel is on sale worldwide.

Dear Seyi
I very much enjoyed your blog and will be checking out your books as soon as I get my hands on them. I want to say that I wish more young people would see how accomplished they can be, in which you are one of the most gracious models to use. The is very important specifically for young women during our time because of how the media, television, music industry, etc. puts so much emphasis on the body instead of the mind.
I hope you can follow my blog. I write poetry and so forth. I did fill out the contact form so I hope you receive what I wrote. I had a question I was hoping you could help me with.
Thank you so much for opening my eyes to fresh astounding work.
Steven
Thank you so much for your kind comment Steven! I truly appreciate it.
You’re right about the media, every young girl wanted to be in a reality show, or modelling and such lives are not as glittering as they appear on television.
Thanks for your friendship. I am now following your blog, and would keep tabs on your posts!
I would be thrilled if you can read my books, you can get them on Amazon.co.uk, you would soon find my titles in bookshops within weeks. Have a beautiful weekend Steven.
Blessings. 🙂

Hi,
I fear this is a much overdue thanks for your keeping up with my blog. I see you like my posts on a frequent basis, but I’ve never looked around your blog until now – so shame on me! I’m impressed by this about page. Will definitely be looking at your books soon!
Did you ever publish the book you wrote aged 13 and which was considered too grown up? My 13-year-old friend was lucky enough to get a publication deal with Bloomsbury, though she had to edit out the ‘too grown up’ bits of her story.
(By pure coincidence, I finished my first novel aged 13, but it was noway near publishable! Still editing it today!)
Also, would you be willing to review the Fauxpocalypse anthology (in which I have a short story and was part of the team helping to edit)? Of course, no worries if you don’t have time, but if you like apocalyptic/dystopian themes, we’d appreciate some more promotion.
Thanks again,
Alexandrina 🙂

I planned to publish my first novel at the age of 13, but instead, I decided to do it this year. I’m happy for you and your success in the writing world. I look forward to reading some of your novels when I get the chance. Remain strong and stay proud my sister!
Thank you so much, it’s never to late to pursue your dreams, I never did publish at 13, I waited a decade or so later. I’m grateful for your kindness and would love it if you do get round to reading my books.
Blessings. 🙂
I definitely will read at least one of your books in due time. I’m going down a similar path because it’s been about a decade for me as well. I’m just curious to see what kind of reaction my novel will bring to the table when it’s published.
Put in the best you’ve got and that’s all that really matters, afterwards, you would earn your readers. I’ll look forward to you reading one of my books. I really appreciate your visit and do enjoy the rest of your week!
Blessings. 🙂
I always do, there isn’t no other way to do it in my opinion. I will definitely share some feedback with you after I read one of your novels. Thanks a lot for the words of encouragement and enjoy your week as well.
Cheers
