Grandeur Of Illusions

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

No one is meant to live forever…

I call it the grandeur of illusion. When mere mortals believe they can physically cheat death. In another vein, we can live forever, (now I’m contradicting myself, aren’t I? Forgive me dear friends, I’m a writer) in the hearts and minds of people, by our words, influences, actions and deeds. We don’t live forever by what we accumulate or our great beauty – the aforementioned is the grandeur of illusion. Beauty fades, kingdoms fall but great stories last forever. Stories of valour, love, kindness and friendship.

I want to appreciate each one of you for praying for my sister SA, your love is not a grandeur of illusion but deeds of love. The operation was a huge success, surgeons were able to repair the damaged valves of her heart, the holes were closed up and her prognosis is good. She’s recovering well…

Yesterday was the longest day of my life, as I waited hours on end, and when she was wheeled out of the theatre with tubes all over her, eyes sealed shut, my heart almost burst out of my ribcage, the worst is over. Thanks so much guys for your love, I appreciate it! I am a grateful friend.

The week is almost over, I hope you’ll all enjoy the rest of this week in relative peace and safety!

Much love, Always!

🙂 🙂

Wow, you express yourself so well I am always moved by your way with words. Glad your sis is doing well, she will remain in my prayers. Mortals are lulled into sleep by the magic box (T.V.) it tells them to be anyone you must be beautiful and stylish and for just 19.95 we will sell you the potion that makes all that -but wait there’s more if you buy into the lie right now we will double your order. We must stay on guard for the truth is a fleeting commodity bought and sold and awarded to the highest bidder. Grandeur of illusion is very fitting you’re blessed with wisdom beyond your years!

This life we live is not life. This life is a living death. This whole world is ruins brilliantly disguised as elegance. Christ alone is life. Christ has come, bringing his life into the wreckage called us. He has opened up, even in these ruins, the frontier of a new world where grace reigns. He is not on a mission to help us improve our lives here. He is on a mission to create a new universe, where grace reigns in life. He is that massive, that majestic, that decisive, that critical and towering and triumphant.

We don’t “apply this to our lives.” It’s too big for that. But we worship him. And we boast in the hope of living forever with him in his new death-free world of grace.

    • Seyi sandra says:

You’ve summarised the essence of living ‘in’ Christ! Thank you Ike, for the wisdom in your words, it’s that powerful! Have a great day my friend. 🙂
